One of my scholarships was not posted to my account until after graduation ? Can I keep it since I was technically entitled to it ? Anyone have a situation like this before ?
This week: I received email saying I have a refund coming, which is odd because I graduated this past spring, so I checked my account to make sure I’m not registered for summer courses and I’m not.
So then I check SIS and I recognize the scholarship specific name(has donor family name), which I was awarded in the previous year(and is renewable). Checked the new award letter and there it is.
It’s dated for spring 2026, but didn’t disburse til this week. My guess is there was some kind of end of year reconciliation/review and the system or someone realized it hadn’t been applied to my last year of college. It’s a very specific scholarship with the donor family name in it, so it’s not like they randomly gave me a scholarship I hadn’t received before, which makes it much harder for it to be an accident. It’s a few thousand, which would be nice to keep since I paid some of my tuition out of pocket last semester. Right now, planning to just put it in savings account for emergencies.
