Hi peeps,

Preparing a recycled phone for my kid and since I always had good experiences with LineageOS, I planned on replacing the stock OS on it with LineageOS.

Phone is a Redmi 8 M1908C3IH and found out that the latest available release is 23.2.Would that be the best choice for such old hardware?

The most important for me is the stability. Kid will be limited to a just a few apps (phone, contacts, SMS, gallery, nextcloud, a messaging app - signal or ~~whatsapp~~, no games or social networks) just ot be able to contact us or be contacted if needed. Still thinking if I should install GApps or not.

So, is 23.2 the recommended release or should I use an older one?
