How to meet strong integrity

Meet integrity is required more than even and achieving the same is a challenge like never before. With banking apps, Government documentation apps and even some quick commerce apps making strong integrity as a necessary requirement.

I've been using modules but still could only pass 2/3 integrity.

At last tried the integrity box which did pass the 3/3 integrity but not for too long.

Is there any way to pass strong integrity on my 1+ 7

Facial verification

I'm using Xiaomi 12 with LineageOS 23.2.

A banking app that needs to scan my face as part of the setup repeatedly failed to complete the process. Could this be related to LineageOS? I.e., are there any limitations in LineageOS that would prevent this process by the app?

This question is specifically about facial authentication capability, not root detection or device integrity.

Is there a phone with a removable battery that supports lineage os?

So I just found out that my phone hasn´t received any security updates since 2024. It was a little scary at first but after researching a little I just need to be careful of what I click on the internet. However, recently my oppo has taken quite a beating and I don´t think there's much life left on it.

All of this to say, that I'm going to buy a used phone to install lineage on it. I thought about the One plus 8t but it doesn't have a removable battery. And since Iḿ buying used I just want a little guarantee that I cant still use it for a few years.

Redmi 8 (Mi439) fingerprint unlock option is missing in settings

I switched from MIUI to Lineage on 30 June and flashed the 25 june build which was the latest and there is no fingerprint unlock option in settings and touching the sensor also doesn't do anything. Also there was a new nightly build on 2 july, it didn't fix anything. Yesterday i reported the issue on GitHub but in the morning today when I checked the issue wasn't there it was deleted from existence :(

Is there an active community developing Android ROMs?

Is the development of Android ROMs kinda dead, or did I not look well enough?

I got to this sub trying to find CyanogenMod. I used CyanogenMod in a lot of my previous devices, and was trying to get back on it for fun. However, besides this sub and LineageOS website, I didn't find anything on current developments. I remember when CyanogenMod was around, the XDA forum was booming with mods and people developing for current phones, and I couldn't find that.

Edit: thank you all!

Any chance flashing lineageOS on moto g 5G 2024 (XT2417D) could improve wifi stability?

With I believe android phone locking or something later this year I figured flashing rom like lineageOS would prevent that and I hope someone can chime in if they noticed better wifi stability?

What is the best phone for LineageOS?

So far I'm using it on my OnePlus 7T Pro, but the phone is already showing its age for a bit, and LineageOS is literally the best Android UI I've ever used (I used OneUI, MIUI, OxygenOS, MagicOS etc.).

Thinking about choosing between OnePlus 13 or Sony Xperia 1 V, first is newer, but second is closer to my heart with 3.5mm jack, microSD and notch-less screen. But, is there any more options instead of those 2?

Does root impact future updating?

If I root my current LineageOS 23.2 install (e.g., using Magisk), will it cause me problems in the future if I want to do another LineageOS update?

Lineage OS on a Redmi 8 phone

Hi peeps,

Preparing a recycled phone for my kid and since I always had good experiences with LineageOS, I planned on replacing the stock OS on it with LineageOS.

Phone is a Redmi 8 M1908C3IH and found out that the latest available release is 23.2.Would that be the best choice for such old hardware?

The most important for me is the stability. Kid will be limited to a just a few apps (phone, contacts, SMS, gallery, nextcloud, a messaging app - signal or ~~whatsapp~~, no games or social networks) just ot be able to contact us or be contacted if needed. Still thinking if I should install GApps or not.

So, is 23.2 the recommended release or should I use an older one?

Thanks!

questions about Lineage on an S24 Ultra

i am about to get an s24 ultra second hand and had a few things i was worried about before messing with this 700 dollar slab of screen.

will the pen still work? i love being able to pull it out and it changes to the notepad without pressing anything. same with the fingerprint sensor will it work fine?

will my banking app still work? i read the play integrity page on the site but id rather not install then find out different apps are broken as i need my bank app and a specific app for work. i think i heard you could choose to install or with or without google play services, is that what stops the play integrity checks from happening or do the issues just come from it being a custom os?

also the play services thing reminded me of the whole thing with micro G whats the deal with that? does it work as a full replacement for google services? micro g will work forever too right, its not reliant on any external servers or anything? apologies if these are dumb questions or if theyve already be answered by the way. i have no idea how any of this stuff works i just like the privacy aspect

Upgrading Pixel 4a from LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11) to 23.0 (Android 16). Flash while keeping data, full wipe first, or upgrade each version one at a time?

I'm trying to avoid a full factory reset if I can help it, but I'm wary of things like changes to encryption etc.

Linage OS need to know before doing it myself

So there are 2 types of tutorial I see online

https://youtu.be/dXiv5cbBrF8?si=jXCJWH-YHrzA-KDw

And

https://youtu.be/2hJxpotMdmA?si=kudwdhszpr8D77EI

One of them use application and the other doesn't. I can understand that.

My question is..

One of them (the first link) needed to get the mind the gap to get the Google playstore

While the second video doesn't explain.

So which one is correct and another question was I heard u can connect to wifi in linage OS is that true?

Roaming data just doesn't work.

I have switched to LineageOS recently, and after that mobile data on roaming doesn't work. What I have already tried:

  • Resetting apn settings to default and rebooting.
  • Choosed a network manually (4g networks just don't connect, 2g/gsm networks do, but don't have mobile data.)
  • Tried to change preferred networks in the phone manager. (That you get to after dialing *#*#4636#*#*)
  • Tried to connect to multiple different networks from different providers.

Other things I have noticed:

  • My Internet service provider (DNA, from Finland) sends me messages when moving to a different country. I have gotten these very late. (3-4 days after crossing a border)
  • When the phone doesn't find a network it for some reason thinks it's connected to DNA's network.

I have all my yearly roaming data left.

Google developer verification in LOS?

Hey, guys. How are we handling this? Goolag says that:

"April 2026: Users will start to see Android Developer Verifier in their Google Systems services settings.

June 2026: Early access: Limited distribution accounts for students and hobbyists. August 2026: Limited distribution accounts launch globally. Advanced flow for power users launches globally. September 30, 2026: Apps must be registered by verified developers in order to be installed and updated on certified Android devices in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. Unregistered apps can be sideloaded with ADB or advanced flow."

https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2026/03/android-developer-verification-rolling-out-to-all-developers.html?m=1

We're already past April, August is around the corner and September is right behind it.

This has been merged into LOS.
https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_frameworks_base/+/486957/7

It says a bug fix but what is it? Do we have a strategy? Is dev verification in AOSP or in GAPPs?

Can i use unofficial S-Pen on Galaxy Tab S6 Lite ?

Hello guys, maybe it's a stupid question, I just found a great deal on a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, but it doesn't come with the S-Pen. Can I use an unofficial S-Pen alternatives with Lineage on this tablet, or does it only support the official one? For instance, I'm looking at this pen

Samsung killing bootloader unlocking was a huge loss for the custom ROM community

This sucks. Was excited to root my device after the Android 16 release, and now Samsung has gone and removed bootloader unlocking capabilities entirely.

The OEM unlocking toggle isn't just missing from developer settings. The necessary code to unlock the bootloader has been completely stripped from the firmware. For people like me who were looking for a phone that can be rooted, this is a huge loss. A whole wave of S22, S23, S24, and S25 owners are stuck.

OEM unlocking is indeed removed permanently from the new software update of newer Samsung Galaxy devices. If your baseband only has Android 16 and you can't downgrade to 15 or 14, your only option is something like Chimera tool, but it's not free.

I hope somebody finds an exploit. It feels like Samsung closed the door on a community that kept their older devices alive way past their support window. They went with the Huawei route sadly.

What's great about Samsung back in the day is that these phones are everywhere. If you're in the US, one of the biggest choices for Android phones has always been Samsung and Motorola. Back in the early days like the mid 2010s, after getting an S5 or S6 or S7, S8 or S10 there would always be a LineageOS custom ROM around the corner, and it was super easy to install.

And then here we are in 2026. The latest phone that's easy to unlock with an official custom ROM is the Samsung A73, but this phone was made in 2022. I know we have an S23 for LineageOS, but there's no official tool to unlock the bootloader once it has upgraded to One UI 8.

Looks like all we have left is Xiaomi, but even HyperOS 2, or even worse HyperOS 3, is extremely hard to unlock the bootloader on.

How does LineageOS perform on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G?

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone uses LineageOS 23.2 on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and how does it perform?

>Is it any faster?
Is the battery life better?
Does it have any bugs?
Is it worth flashing?

I do seem a bit paranoid because I've flashed CrDroid before and It was the worst experience I've ever had on a phone, PixelOS did stutter a bit but I still switched back to HyperOS.
