what are you all doing about cancelation requests?

buyer purchases and like 20 minutes later they ask to cancel. i just refunded and blocked but wondering if this has happened to others and what are your policies? i recently decided no more holds due to flaky losers but i have never had a cancelation request.

im so tired of the extreme lowball offers.

i posted an item for 65. sent an offer to likers for 60, buyer counters with 40 🙃 so i counter with my lowest ill go which is 50. (stated in my bio that i accept most offers or ill counter for my lowest ill go) buyer then counters again and again for $42 and $44.

mind you this is the second most expensive item on my depop. most of my items are priced at $15 or less however this specific item is a really cool grail item that i have seen for listed way above what i'm asking for it. im talking over $100+. so its not like my price is unfair.

im just so tired of it. it happens with every item from a $3 listing to a $100 listing. like everyone is just trying to get the absolute cheapest possible amount that they can get and it's frustrating. i understand that the economy is trash right now but as a seller when i sell an item for $4, i make like less than a dollar on it due to packaging and gas to get to post not even minding the time that it takes to curate the items that i have on my shop or to take photos/package etc.

i want to be clear that i love selling and finding items that deserve more love than sitting in someone's basement or rotting in a landfill but it seems that just because some sellers list for a lot of money and offer huge discounts doesn't mean all of us can. sometimes if something is really cool ill pay $6-$12 on it and list for less than $10 profit but that means i cant just sell it for $1 more than i paid?

does anyone else struggle with this? am i selling the wrong way lol? should i list for $20 above what i sell for usually? i just feel like everyone is always trying to get stuff for so little money that my time curating everything feels like its not worth it. i would love to hear any feedback good or bad.

also: i just want to add that sometimes i see shops listing for like 30 to 40 dollars an item and it just feels like so much money and like i know that person didn't pay that much for it am i under selling myself?

if you're comfortable with sharing your sale to profit ratio id love to hear it. i don't want to just get hundreds of dollars off of people just because an item is nice im so scared of overpricing but sometimes i feel like im barely able to make any money at all and it's not due to how i find the items because most of the time items i buy are $4 or less due to garage saling/sale days/thrifting.
