Need advise for yogya + east java planning

hello all,

i will be arriving to yogyakarta on Jun 1, planning to visit borobudur and prambanan on jun 2

then to malang… and am planning to do the 3D2N tour tumpak sewu, bromo, ijen…. which is going to be too packed…

so, i was wondering whether to

  1. take the night train on Jun 2nd from jogya to malang and then rest the whole day in malang on Jun3
    or
  2. after the temple visits take rest then catch the morning train on jun 3rd from jogya to malang….
    or
  3. add an extra day, depart from jogya to malang on the night of jun 3rd

Any inputs would be much appreciated..

thanks in advance!!

Solo Indonesia 1 month (June) - East Java + Bali - general suggestions and advice appreciated.

hi all,
I’ll be in Indonesia for about a month.. June...about a week in Java (Yogya + bromo + ijen) and the rest in Bali.

I'm Traveling solo, not much into partying or the hostel scene, i dont drink.... more into nature, adventures, good conversations and learning new things. How hard would it be to meet fellow travelers with similar vibe?

A bit about me - 6+ years in software (building SaaS / consulting), but this trip is a proper break to reset and get out of my usual bubble

While there, I’d really like to meet people who are building things or running small businesses.

Also totally open to finding travel buddies for day trips or traveling together with anyone if the vibe matches.

Few things I’m wondering,

- Where do people usually meet others outside of party/hostel environments?

- Planning to base in Canggu and Ubud, then do trips to Uluwatu, Gili, Nusa Penida, maybe Munduk. Is that smart or better to move around more without fixed bases?

- Should i have a planned itenary or just free flow?

Also open to any stay or itenary suggestions, other cool places.

Thanks in advance!!

If anyone’s around in June with a similar mindset, happy to connect..
