Bali Itenary Review

Bali Itenary Review

I have made this itenary, I will be going Bali on August with my wife. Our age is under 30, and we want to travel this itenary mostly in scooter, only day 4 we will hire a car, we are not relaxing type, so we want to see experience as many places possible.

Please suggest if any thing is not worth it or any places we can replace

And please suggest budget friendly hotels in ubud seminyak Canggu.

Thankyou

Getting to Canggu from airport?

Our flight arrives at 2.45pm, and our accomodation is in Canggu for the first 5 nights.

I’ve heard traffic is a nightmare but is there anything we can do to help smooth out the journey? We are travelling with a 4yo and 8mo.

(Eg: places to stop to break up the drive, or delay driving in certain peak times?)

Thanks!

2 Weeks itinerary advice

Hi all,

I am trying to finalize the itinerary for our two week trip with my wife to Bali at the end of June. The idea is not to have a hectic time and stay in just two different places. We are planning to take a grab or driver car to major sightseeing places. The idea is to just relax and enjoy each other's company in Bali.

7 nights - Ubud - rice terraces, temples (Pura Tirta Empul, Gunung Kawi, Besakih, Goa Gajah, Gate of Heaven), Kintamani, Campuhan Ridge Walk

6 nights - Gili Air - snorkeling, swimming, beach, sunset cafes, bicycle riding

Concerns:

  1. How easy is it to get around/explore from Ubud and Gili Air?

  2. We switched from Seminyak to Gili Air because the goal is to have relaxing beach time with swimming, snorkeling, and a lot of just lying around. Will this be better?

Please suggest what other sightseeing should be done without making it a hectic trip.

Thank you!!!

Bali destination wedding

Hi everyone!

My partner and I are considering getting married in Bali in 2027 and I’d love some honest advice from people who have done it recently.

We’re trying to work out whether our budget is realistic or if we’re completely dreaming 😅

Our rough plan would be:
- 70–80 guests
- Food included
- Free flowing drinks/alcohol package
- Accommodation for bride & groom included
- Beautiful reception/ceremony setup (doesn’t need to be ultra luxury, but still want it to feel really special)
- Photographer/video ideally included in overall budget if possible
- Open to villas, resorts, cliffside venues etc.

Our ideal budget would be around AUD $15k–20k total.

Is this actually achievable in Bali nowadays? Or would we realistically need a much bigger budget for that guest count?

Would also LOVE:
- venue recommendations
- planners you loved
- hidden costs people didn’t expect
- whether most guests actually came
- whether you used Bali vendors or brought Australian vendors over
- best months/weather

Would really appreciate honest advice from anyone who’s done a Bali wedding recently 🤍

Heading to Bali Nov 10-18

Hello all!

I’m heading to Bali Nov. 10th-18th for my honeymoon and I’m wondering if what I have planned (location wise) sounds ok?
Our flight gets to DPS pretty early, at 11am. I’m assuming 2 hours in immigration, but we’re thinking of getting a fast track with transportation to maybe cut it.

I wanted to start in Ubud, stay there for 4 nights then head to Uluwatu for the remaining days.
But I heard that’s the start of Balis rainy season so I’m wondering if we’re gonna get to enjoy the beaches and etc without hard rain.

Also, any tips and things we should see!
My fiancé loves animals so we’re planning to visit all of the monkeys/animals sanctuaries they have, as well as beaches and temples, but we’d appreciate recommendations as well.

Thanks!

Uluwatu, Kecak Dance, Tanah Lot in one day

Staying in Nusa Dua, is this doable in one day? The reason I ask is I don't see it listed on GYG or Klook, maybe just one listing but quite expensive.

Bali: Entering the country with an engagement ring

Hi all,

I will fly to Bali with my gf and planning on proposing to her while on the trip. I am unsure about bringing the ring with me due to customs. As far as I understood you have to fill out a customs declaration. For me it seems it counts as an personal item (not needed to be addressed) and will be brought back to my home country so is there an issue?
The ring is around 1.2k €/USD.

Glad for any information and help I can get.

Thank you!!

Lost child’s bag - Batik air

We arrived yesterday and realised as soon as we were in the passport control our 3 year old didn’t have his bag. We think it was left in the overhead locker on our Batik Air flight, but by then we couldn’t go back.

Family who had gone ahead reported it to the airport, then to the Batik Air check in desk. We have also reported online. The flight transferred on to KL.

Although it was very distinctive it has not been located, and Batik have not been very good at responding to emails. Is there anything else we can do?

Kiddo lost his much beloved toys and it is having such a dampener on our holiday. I really feel we failed him.

Best Routes for NY> Bali, Indonesia??

Looking for booking a trip for this November with the use of Amex Points to convert, but I’m a little lost when it comes to conversion ratios. What should I look for when planning to book this trip?

First was looking with Air Canada (Aeroplan) and it was 1:1 but found a decently cheap round trip to Singapore, when I would then just find a cheap flight to Bali from there for around $150.

Another option I found was through Qatar airways, but I could not figure out what a conversion would look like for that airline.

I’m typically used to just booking through the Amex portal so that does all the work for me, and I’m not really sure what to look for here. Any input helps, and I appreciate the assistance in advance!

Let’s explore Bali together

I’m going to Bali for 9 days and I’ve decided I would like to find a travel buddy for the trip because exploring beautiful places alone is cute… but having someone to say “Get up! We’re getting late for the sunrise” is cuter. 🌴

Plan:

• 4 days in Ubud - waterfalls, cafés, healing our inner child

• 2 days in Gili - Snorkelling, nature, sunsets

• 3 days in Uluwatu - sunsets, beach clubs, and acting like we belong in a Pinterest travel board

Pros:

• We’re strangers, so everything is new and exciting

• We get to discover Bali and each other at the same time

• Built-in company for random walks, late-night talks, and judging overpriced smoothie bowls together

Cons:

• One of us may accidentally become emotionally invested after one too many sunsets

• You will probably end up in 700 photos

• If the vibes are bad, we still have 9 days left

Requirements:

• Must be good at taking pictures because this is a partnership

• Must enjoy exploring without rushing everywhere

• Must be kind. Like genuinely kind. Hot people are everywhere, calm people are rare.

For research purposes only, I would love to know:

• Your ideal Bali day from morning to night

• Your biggest green flag while travelling with someone

• Whether you’re a “strict itinerary” person or a “let’s see where the road takes us” person

If the universe randomly aligns two travel-compatible humans from this post, that would truly be beautiful. 🤍

Grab/Gojek (Car/Bike?)

Hello all,

My girlfriend and I are going to Bali for 2-weeks in June until the beginning of July, and we are going to be renting out 3 separate Airbnbs (Uluwatu, Canggu, and Ubud).

Obviously, we are taking 1 suitcase each. To get from Airbnb to Airbnb, we are going to need a car, but most likely we will rent a bike or 2 and get Grabs/GoJeks when needed to travel to the next Airbnb.

I've heard Grabs/Gojeks are not always available, so my question is, are Grabs and Gojeks available in the areas that I will be going to or anywhere else?

Or should I just rent a car, but I've heard the traffic is bad and the bike is way easier.

Thank you :)

Retreat or private lessons in Bali?

Hi all, I’m going to Bali this summer and want to do aerial. I just started a few months ago and know a little bit more than a beginner. I found a few retreats and did some research and spoke with their hosts. They all seem legit and pretty well known.

My question is, would a retreat be worth it for someone like me? I’m 24 F and worried that I may not be the target demographic. Is it all older people? Another goal of mine will be to connect with people closer to my age. The retreat I settled on is about $2000 and includes 12 hours of training over the course of a week, food, accommodation, and other sight seeing activities. But if I were to take private lessons they would be $50 an hour. If I were to train the same amount via private lessons and pay for my own food and housing I estimate that I would not spend more than $1000 in a week in Bali.

Is the extra 1k worth it for all the other activities and the overall experience? I have a pretty high paying job but I feel bad about spending so much money as such a young person and want to make sure it’s worth it.

Chemical on Bali airport gate chair destroyed my clothes within minutes while boarding flight

Had a genuinely insane experience at Bali DPS airport (Ngurah Rai) this week.

I sat in one of the chairs at Gate 2 for a very brief period while waiting to board. The chair looked completely normal and clean, there was nothing visibly wet, dirty, or suspicious about it.

Within a very short amount of time, my clothes started reacting like they had been exposed to bleach or some kind of corrosive chemical. My pants literally began shredding/disintegrating to the point that my skin became exposed in front of other passengers. I had to urgently dig through my carry-on on the aircraft to find another item of clothing to cover myself up because the fabric was continuing to tear apart in real time.

My shirt also became bleached and developed holes after coming into contact with my bag, which had been sitting on the chair next to me. The chemical somehow transferred onto and through the bag material itself and even ruined brand-new clothing packed inside.

What’s even crazier is that the second pair of pants I changed into afterward was also damaged after coming into contact with the contaminated items. Even my underwear developed bleach marks and holes.

The airport responded saying they later inspected the chairs and “they are clean,” but:

  1. the chairs looked visually clean when I sat down too, and
  2. their inspection happened more than 24 hours after the incident.

This honestly feels like a major passenger safety issue involving cleaning chemicals being left on public seating, not just a clothing stain.

I’ve now filed formal complaints with the airport, but they closed the report saying the chairs looked clean.

Has anyone ever experienced anything remotely like this or have advice on escalation/reimbursement?

Added some pictures: the pants and shirt are what I was wearing originally. The black leggings are what I changed into after.

Getyourguide or Klook or private driver for day trips

We'll be in Bali for two weeks in June. I plan to take multiple day trips from Ubud and Nusa Dua. Would you recommend Klook, Getyourguide or private driver?

Getyourguide day trips seem better organized on the web site. What I see on Klook is not set in stone, can choose from options but not everything is available.
