Help Planning a 7 Week Asia Trip

Hi everyone!

I'm planning a 7-week trip, and I'm hoping it'll be the trip of a lifetime. I'm 27, traveling solo, and this may be the last opportunity I have to take an extended trip like this for quite a while.

Because of that, part of me wants to use this chance to visit places I might not otherwise prioritize—destinations that require more time to appreciate, aren't ideal for a typical 2-week holiday, or might be harder to convince a future partner to visit.

I've already traveled fairly extensively through Latin America, Europe, and Africa, so Asia feels like the obvious choice. I'm very open to suggestions, but here are a few ideas I've been considering:

  • 2 weeks in Japan, 3 weeks in Vietnam, and either 2 weeks in Indonesia (at the end of the trip) or 2 weeks in Kyrgyzstan (at the beginning).
  • A deep dive into India. It seems like a high-risk, high-reward destination that could be incredibly rewarding. I could also combine it with another nearby country.
  • A trip centered around China.
  • Iraq also interests me, although I'm unsure whether it's currently a sensible destination from a safety perspective.

I'm open to any ideas, including places I haven't mentioned. If you had 7 weeks for a once-in-a-lifetime solo trip, where would you go and why?

Thanks in advance!
