Dubai kids who found their better half in this city, How did it happen ?

This is a half rant, half fact finding, half hope seeking post. Wait, the math is not mathing here. Anyway, here it goes :

I had the privilege & the good fortune to come here at a very young age with my family. I grew up like any expat kid, having fun making friends from different countries, religions and cultures. Something that never ceases to amaze me, even at 32 years of age. Even though I was focused on grades & studies , somehow still managed to get into a relationship with a nerd like me.

Then time came for higher studies. A lot of my friends left. So did she. There was nothing we could do about it but end it. Went into higher studies here. New crowd, new friends, but couldn't forget her. We did stay in touch briefly but guess she moved on quicker than I could. During uni. I got into gym & fitness & while that did earn me interest from the opposite sex, I guess I didn't reciprocate because they weren't like her.

Finished uni., got a job. Cut to present. My friend group has shrunk considerably. I'm busy most of the days and barely find the energy to go out an socialize. Dating apps are a bust due to reasons already covered many times by others. All I want is to settle down with a life partner. Someone preferably who's a Dubai kid like me. Yet even after being an Indian, a nationality that this country's population is predominantly comprised of, I'm unable to find someone from my country (parental requisite) to fall in love & spend the rest of my life with.

So I ask fellow Dubai kids like me, how did you meet your 'till death do us apart' ?

To my fellow Indians living here, were you aware of this ?

As an Indian who was raised in Dubai, I was quite surprised by this. Isn't a passport proof of citizenship across the globe or does it differ elsewhere also ?
Indians of UAE, What's your take on this ?

NOTE : MY POST ISN'T ABOUT POLITICS NOR AM I ADVOCATING A POLITICAL DISCUSSION HERE. THIS IS A FACT FINDING POST, NOT A POLITICAL DEBATE.

HELP : Drunk cancelled Ex-Employee refused to board the flight.

A blue collar worker was recently terminated after his contract expired, due to his unruly behavior and coming to work drunk. All his dues were cleared & cancellation paper was generated. Our PRO told that until he exits the country, he's legally still our responsibility & fines will be incurred if he doesn't leave the country or change visa before the period mentioned on his cancellation paper. Today we tried to see him off at the airport.
He was slightly drunk since the morning but willingly went to the airport. He showed no resistance. Once we got there, he threw a tantrum, saying he didn't want to leave. The airlines clerk refused to process his ticket due to him refusing to take the flight & being drunk. We even got the cops involved but were asked to take him from there.

We don't want any liability, nor do we want to let him stay at the accommodation. The PRO isn't available right now. What are our options ?

Need Ideas for Holidays that don't involve staying home

On normal weekends, I'm a big fan of staying indoors, firing up the latest series or movie and ordering in. Was thinking of doing something else for the holidays. Friends & I tried brainstorming something that doesn't involve loitering aimlessly in malls for hours. I love doing stuff outdoors but we have a very small window in the early morning before the heat goes scorched-earth & one has to rush to the comfort of A/C. Night is not a problem but traffic in the night is.

If you have any great ideas, I'm all ears. Please feel free to share.

Has anyone had their Corp Tax Late Registration Penalty waived off ?

As you may know, FTA offered to waive off the penalty for late Corp Tax registration provided one files their Corp Tax within 7 months of their 1st Corp tax period end.
Since we fall into that category, I wanted to know from the professionals in the group if there are others who also got the penalty successfully waived off by submitting the return.
Also are there any other extra steps that need to be taken apart from filing the return, like filing a reconsideration request or anything else ?

Bad Flu (Part 2) : Advice needed

It's official.

Yours truly, Anthony Gonsalvez has got it too. I knew it was only a matter of time once my colleagues got it, no matter what the precautions. Cold & Flu is a b and remains dormant for a while before it hits you like a freight train.

I was completely fine until yesterday afternoon. My voice felt heavier like I was channeling Mr. Amitabh Bachhan through me or something. Started getting this tingling feeling in my throat and starting coughing a bit in the night.

Come morning & feel weak as hell. Cold air doesn't feel great which is signaling that I may have fever. Although, body doesn't feel hot. & Yeah, dry cough and splitting headache along with blocked nose.

Ate a Pandol and took some cough syrup at lunch. Sweated like a pig about to be slaughtered but the weakness in my body is gone for now. Headache & blocked nose remains

My question to those who said they faced something similar :

Do i go to the doc. or just tough it out with OTC medication ? FYI, I hate medicines and don't want to take antibiotics for no reason if it's a viral thing.

Advice needed.

About 2 weeks ago, my manager got fever out of nowhere and started coughing (dry cough) constantly. OTC medicine didn't work and he had to see a Doc. & get prescription antibiotics and cough syrup.
Fast forward to today, a few of my colleagues called in sick with similar symptoms. At first I thought it was a joke, but turns out it's same type of symptoms although they were mostly fine yesterday.
I remember a client postponed a meeting last week also mentioning a case of flu.
Is this a weather thing or something else ?

My friend had a document from the bank arrive for him through EMX but was refused delivery due to his Emirates ID being expired.
For context, his ID expired 2 weeks ago & is in process of renewal. Now, the bank knows about Id expiry due to periodic kyc & still issues this document to be sent to him based on a request made couple of days ago. EMX is just a delivery middleman. Yet they refuse handing over what the sender sent to the correct recipient with ID albeit expired & despite other proof (Passport/Driver's License) being readily made available.

Anyone else ever have to face a similar issue ?

How many of you, don't drink alcohol but still visited a bar on their 21st birthday ?

I wanted to visit to experience what the fuss is all about, & you don't get to be 21 years old again in life. Ended up trying a can of beer. Hated the taste & didn't get high whatsoever.
