Mexican Chili Review

Pros:

- Convenient for lunch/dinner
- Convenient to mask certain undesirable flavors like the sweetness (added hot sauce and the seasoning above though it's still slightly sweet)
- Isn't super bland in flavor
- has a nice spicy flavor to it without it being overwhelming

Cons:

- individual cooking (microwave + water ) requires individual adjustment as mine came out crunchy, but I also put a plate on in when cooking which in hindsight may have effected that. I did have it sit for 10 minutes covered before I tasted it, and ended up adding 1/4 cup more boiling water. Still crunchy.
- has a sweetness to it which is not my favorite as chili to me is more savory than sweet.

I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but I can tolerate it. Perhaps with more playing around with the water and microwave cooking and cooling, I can get that part to a better place. But I still feel like I'd have to adjust the sweetness profile. It's still crunchy so I have it right now with some water on a pot of water, hopefully will help the crunchiness.

Personal recommendation: I would love to a see a more savory chili without the sweetnes,s and without the corn if it doesn't adjust the macros too much. More beans like a standard chili.

Edit to add: Makes a fairly decent soup if you need to cook it this way. I added more low fodmap brand; chili, garlic salt, and taco seasoning.. perfect solution. Might be doing this more often lol.

I think I'm ready for July

I made my first large order for July. Not pictured are the hot meals. Two meals with Huel, a Huel Daily Greens, one Huel dinner 3-7x a week. Nutritionist approved with the inclusion of some meat and vegetables with the hot meal, and a snack(s) as needed.

I have GI issues which have effected my protein, iron/ferritin, and general nutrition status. But I have zero problems with Huel since I've trialed it for a little bit this month. And two Huel's and a Daily Greens largely fulfills a lot of what I'm having issues with. So ramping up July to kick start my weight loss goals.
