We are building a new fintech platform in the UAE and are looking for a full-stack developer to help build the first working MVP.

About the founding team
The project is being led by an existing UK finance company with direct experience in commercial finance, business funding and working with SMEs. We are now expanding our focus into the UAE market and are looking to build the MVP for our next fintech concept, with the intention of using it to demonstrate the product, validate demand and support future fundraising conversations.

This is not a vague idea. The product architecture, database structure, API specifications, user flows, feature requirements, design direction and product roadmap have already been mapped out. We now need someone who can turn those specifications into a clean, working, demo-ready product.

The role would suit a developer who can build a complete web application from scratch, including backend logic, user authentication, database structure, API integrations, machine-learning-assisted decision flows, frontend dashboards, forms, and a polished user journey.

What you will build:

Backend
FastAPI / Python backend
User authentication and JWT token management
Database setup using SQLModel / SQLite
API endpoints based on detailed specifications
Business logic, scoring models and machine-learning-assisted matching flows
Mock third-party API integrations for demo and testing
Clean, production-ready code structure
Well-commented code for future developers

Frontend
React-based user interface
Login and signup pages
User dashboard
Data input and account-style screens
Results/recommendation display
Application-style form flow
Confirmation and status screens
Responsive, mobile-first design
Professional fintech-style UI using an existing design system

Deliverables
Fully functional MVP running locally
Backend and frontend completed
SQLite database with required tables
Mock integrations for testing
Complete project documentation
Clean handover for future development
Ready-to-demo investor-facing product

Tech stack
Backend: FastAPI, Python, SQLModel, SQLite, JWT, async/await
Frontend: React 18+, Axios, React Router, CSS
Machine learning: practical model implementation, scoring logic, data classification or recommendation flows
Tools: Git/GitHub, Postman or Thunder Client, Docker optional

Who we are looking for
2+ years full-stack development experience
Strong React experience
Good Python experience, ideally FastAPI
Machine learning experience, particularly around scoring models, data classification, recommendation engines, predictive modelling or AI-assisted decision flows
Comfortable working with REST APIs
Understands relational databases and data models
Can work independently from detailed specs
Can write clean, structured, well-commented code
Can think through user flows, edge cases and testing
Able to communicate clearly and provide regular updates

Nice to have
Fintech experience
Experience building dashboards or workflow platforms
API integration experience
Experience with financial services, onboarding, underwriting, compliance, or regulated-sector products
Experience building demo-ready MVPs
UAE market experience
Open finance or financial-data experience

Blockchain experience
Heavy DevOps experience
Prior UAE fintech experience
Experience with every specific tool listed above, provided you can learn quickly

Timeline
8–12 weeks for the MVP.

Indicative process:
Week 1–2: Setup, architecture review, backend scaffolding
Week 3–5: Backend implementation, scoring logic and mock integrations
Week 6–8: Frontend implementation and user flows
Week 9–10: Integration testing, bug fixes and polish
Week 11–12: Documentation, demo readiness and handover

Check-ins
Weekly 30-minute syncs
Async updates via Slack or similar

Compensation
To be negotiated.

Payment structure
Paid in completed tranches.

Long-term opportunity
For the right person, this may develop beyond the initial MVP build. We would be open to discussing a longer-term technical leadership role, including a potential CTO position, if there is strong alignment, trust, delivery quality and shared belief in the product after the MVP stage.
