AS A JOB SEEKER, I'M GOING THROUGH A LOT. SEND LEGIT OPPORTUNITIES MY WAY!
What's this?

What's this?
Hope everyone’s staying safe. I’ll try to keep this short.
I’m based in London and have been working remotely for a Dubai-based company for the past year.
I asked my employer to sponsor an employment visa, as I’ve been thinking of relocating to Dubai for a while now. So my employer arranged a work permit at his own expense, then I signed both the MOHRE job offer and two-year employment contract. The work permit gave me 2 months to enter UAE.
My dilemma now is that the 2-month period is almost up by the end of this month. Due to unforeseen circumstances, however, I am unable to relocate anymore. I cannot travel for at least the next 6 to 9 months. I would still like to continue working in my current position, but I feel extremely guilty and need to inform my employer about the situation.
If my employer asks me to reimburse him for the expenses he incurred for the work permit, would he be legally allowed to do so? And could he terminate the employment offer or dismiss me because I am unable to relocate within the required timeframe?
I apologise for my ignorance, and would appreciate any advice. My sincerest thanks in advance.

I'm not in UAE right now but considering traveling to dubai to hunt jobs next month.
I'm a recent fresh graduate (June 2026). Looking for jobs in software engineering, web development and cybersecurity. Started coding and been in tech and startups since high school. I have done 4 internships during my bachelors. Youngest incubatee in a startup incubator during high school, learnt a lot building my own startup and helping out other startups in their tech. International freelance experience including UAE, Saudi Arabia, USA, UK, Germany, etc. Learning cybersecurity too.
Open to opportunities anywhere atp.
How is the IT job market right now? Is it worth traveling and hunting jobs in UAE for 2-3 months?
Would really appreciate any help or guidance in UAE, gulf or anywhere.
Thank you.
I grew up in Dubai, and worked hard on my studies to get a good life. My parents sent me to India for affordable studies I did Bachelors in CSE.
Now as a Dubai kid I am not able to be happy in India. So I come back to Dubai hoping for a job it's been a few months of search and nothing. Over here I have no value,I am an expense, I need visa and work permit. So every company logically place safe and takes a experienced guy.
I want to do any data related work like analysis, migration , integration. I have interest in design also so I used canva, Photoshop and AI Like Claude design.
Now I know this might sound like I need help and not a job but I am just frustrated of trying and failing . Living in freebies like a cheapskate. I work hard, I want to learn , why can't I get a chance anywhere. I see so many cars and people and companies can't anyone just let me sit there. I mean sit sit there not get a whole life I just want to sit as a intern. I'll see how you work I'll learn by asking questions overtime I'll help you. why can't I get a fucking internship in data management or design. I have put 100 applications and no response , two interviews and both rejected for same reason I don't have job ex. I just want a chance to get experience my guy you don't have to do shit just let me sit ill be cool, I'll bring your coffee, I'll even smile for stupid jokes just let me In.
I read unfortunately so many times ... I am just tired , my parents want to send me back to India , but that's square one again. I don't want to risk all money on a masters now being a fresher.
What can a guy do at this point I have been considering doing blue collar jobs but it breaks my heart to the point I cry in public cause I studied so much and worked so hard in this country and yet I am left clueless. My friends who had richer deeper connection have all got a job now, they had a referral to start their career or pushed them into the family companies.
Here I worked hard went to the uni did my projects as I was asked and I sat alone in the afternoon on the streets crying.
At this point I don't even care about anything job or interest , life has become so ugly , I don't see enjoy any job more. Sorry for sounding like a sour shit but I just needed a rant. Also I have a therapist please don't go there......
The job market is absolutely brutal.
Juniors aren’t getting jobs because companies think it would be cheaper to get AI to do it, or some team sitting in a country where you can get cheap labor.
Folks with 15+ years of experience is being looked at with caution because companies are afraid they wouldn’t be able to adapt with how fast the world and technology is moving.
And the guys in middle are getting outflanked because folks with much more experience are also applying for the same jobs they do.
(We will see how hiring idiots/machines or taking advantage of older folks who are desperate works out for these companies in due time.)
But after all that bs, say you do it make it, somehow land an interview, and you prep for it and do it.
You think the hard part is over.
But no no, because the process isn’t brutal and humiliating enough, you’ve now got to be subjected to radio silence. Nothing that screams “we know you’ll wait for us, bootlicker” like a recruiter completely ghosting you for weeks on end after you’ve done an interview or two.
Bonus humiliation if you actually met the recruiter or hiring manager in person and think at least them meeting you in person would help them to see you not just as someone the beloved ATS happened to pick and you then interacted with through a screen on a random Tuesday, but as an actual human being who deserves respect.
So if you’re an HR recruiter, who works for a recruitment agency or a company, and if you have even an iota of humanness left within you that the corporate world hasn’t sucked out of you yet? Just have the basic decency to let people know what is happening - let it be bad news, that’s ok. But put people out of their goddamn misery.
And not the generic message that your AI pumps out to let every tom, dick and harry who had applied for the job on linkedin. At least, a one liner as to why it didn’t work out. You can skip any filler talk or fluff, no one cares for it.
Too much to ask for?
I have 4+ years of experience building AI systems : chatbots, AI agents, RAG pipelines, and full-stack apps using Python and Next js.
I’ve also fixed and merged two bugs into Qdrant, an open-source vector database used by AI teams worldwide, plus contributed fixes to LlamaIndex, LangChain, Outlines, etc..
I’ve been job hunting for about 3 weeks. I got 2 interviews so far and turned both down not because they rejected me, but because the salaries were AED 5,000–6,000 for senior-level AI work. That felt too low for the scope, so I passed.
What I’m looking for:
**•** AI Engineer / GenAI Engineer roles
**•** Dubai preferred, open to remote
**•** AED 18,000–28,000 (flexible depending on the role)

I've applied for 100+ 'easy apply' linkedin jobs and have always been in the first 12 hours. In the beginning, it was probably within the first 30 mins because I was constantly checking and now I check every now and then so within the first 2-3 hours and max 12 hours.
I got the 'Your application was viewed' notification only once. Does that seriously mean the other 99+ jobs weren't even viewed? Even though I always apply early?
Looking for a Business Development manager post in a Logistics company. Please let me know if there are any opportunities that will help my career to grow. I have 2 years experience in the Dubai market. Any MNC or European company would be helpful.
Just graduated this July with a BSc in Business Economics from a UK university and have moved back to the Middle East. I’m a US citizen and have lived in Bahrain for the past 10 years.
My experience includes boutique consulting/finance, managing a student consulting project, and working as a data analyst for a university think tank. I wasn’t able to secure a UK grad role, so I’m now looking at Dubai/UAE for my first full-time role.
I’m open to finance, consulting, analytics, etc., but unsure which direction to focus on. I’ve been advised to prioritise a reputable company, Big 4, major bank, or established financial firm to build my CV before specialising later.
For those who broke into the UAE market as fresh grads, what would you recommend prioritising? Is the company name more important initially, or should I be selective about the role itself?
Any advice on finding graduate/junior opportunities in Dubai would also be appreciated.
Hey folks 👋
I am currently a Senior Sales Executive in my firm earning 18K a month. Fuel & salik are reimbursed separately with a limit of 1.4K. So effectively my take home is 19.4K.
That being said, I’m in my early 30s with two dependents (wife & newborn) and I’ve been in the company for 6 years now.
I started off as a junior analyst making 8K (which was actually below the market) and gradually climbed up the ranks by strategically formulating my internal rotations until finally reaching my desired Sales Executive role in 2023.
Perks include : top class health insurance, annual tickets , visa (all three for self & family). Also have an incentive scheme depending on target achievement which translates to earning potential of max 3.5x monthly pay.
By the grace of God (touch wood) - I’ve been fortunate enough to get decent increments almost yearly through my hard-work and recognition from the top. It translates to around 23% growth year over year. Hence why I haven’t switched as there is a clear career trajectory and strong company financials to navigate tough periods like Covid.
That being said, considering my age and current job title, I can’t help but think I’m being underpaid compared to similar roles in my industry. I could be wrong , but the thought comes to mind because I did start off underpaid to begin with.
Would appreciate some opinions!

Hi all
Im from South Africa. I am a qualified electrician with a trade test. I have 10 years of experience post trade test. I have been working as a Supervisor for the past 6 years. My current salary in SA is R35K = 7900AED.
My question is why are electrician salaries in the UAE so low?
I see the average salary for an electrician ranges between 2500-4000 AED.

I moved to dubai in may, this year. In June, I joined a tea trading company in Al Ras, Dubai, and my salary is AED 4,500/month with no other benefits.
My responsibilities are quite broad. I’m basically handling their entire digital design presence, including:
Designing their Facebook and Instagram content,
Creating their company profile/social media branding,
Designing product packages for printing and promotional materials,
UI design for their website,
Building the website of 5 page myself in Webflow and publishing it to the domain, managing, adding new products,
Creating various web graphics,
Managing their Facebook and Instagram pages.
I have 6+ years of professional experience in graphic design, branding, UI/web design, and related work.
Considering the amount of responsibility and the fact that I’m handling multiple roles (Graphic Designer + UI Designer + Webflow Developer + Social Media/Content Designer), is AED 4,500/month considered underpaid in Dubai?

For almost 4mos, I’ve been consistently applying in Linkedin, Indeed, company websites, agency websites, and other job boards. I’ve done walk-ins under the summer heat submitting my CV to offices, sent countless of emails to different hiring companies, contacted everyone i know including old colleagues, revised my CV couple of times, sent my resumes to people i meet, yet I haven’t gotten a single interview until now.
4 months of silence. Maximum effort for 0 results.
My previous roles were:
- Receptionist & Administrative Assistant
- Operations Assistant
- Process Associate in one of the well-known banks in UAE
I don’t know what else to do. I feel like I’ve tried everything, but I am open for any useful suggestions. Thanks :)
