Is 18K per month fair for my profile and experience?

Hey folks 👋

I am currently a Senior Sales Executive in my firm earning 18K a month. Fuel & salik are reimbursed separately with a limit of 1.4K. So effectively my take home is 19.4K.

That being said, I’m in my early 30s with two dependents (wife & newborn) and I’ve been in the company for 6 years now.

I started off as a junior analyst making 8K (which was actually below the market) and gradually climbed up the ranks by strategically formulating my internal rotations until finally reaching my desired Sales Executive role in 2023.

Perks include : top class health insurance, annual tickets , visa (all three for self & family). Also have an incentive scheme depending on target achievement which translates to earning potential of max 3.5x monthly pay.

By the grace of God (touch wood) - I’ve been fortunate enough to get decent increments almost yearly through my hard-work and recognition from the top. It translates to around 23% growth year over year. Hence why I haven’t switched as there is a clear career trajectory and strong company financials to navigate tough periods like Covid.

That being said, considering my age and current job title, I can’t help but think I’m being underpaid compared to similar roles in my industry. I could be wrong , but the thought comes to mind because I did start off underpaid to begin with.

Would appreciate some opinions!

Car AC condenser cleaning is underrated

Just thought to share my experience in this unforgiving weather on everybody’s car’s AC

My car wasn’t cooling well at idle / low speeds and taking long time to cool. At highway was perfect. And the mileage is also hardly 95,000 kms so the compressor is still good and no leaks in the system.

My garage strongly suggested to clean the condenser properly and voila - a lot of dirt and debris came out despite the condenser looking “clean” to begin with.

The AC cools much quickly and efficiently now even at idle.

So folks - worth giving it a try !

Sell my BMW 730Li now or hold off a bit?

Hey everyone

I’m thinking whether to sell my car now or wait a few months. I would imagine the market is quite poor at the moment…

Background : I have a 2013 730Li which was bought a year ago from the first owner with only 92,000 kms.
I’ve spent a small fortune on preventative maintenance which should give at least 3 years of stress free ownership. It’s driven now 103,000 kms and using it daily for my office. All maintenance records available.

I’m considering selling it down the line and perhaps upgrading to a newer vehicle but not sure if I will get a genuine and fair buyer nowadays who would value the extra maintenance works done and appreciate that it’s not an average car from market which needs at least AED 15-20K worth of maintenance to “reset” it.

If anyone is interested, feel free to DM me for details 👀
