Question about Starkey Omega ITC ai hearing aids

I got these last week and they are a huge improvement from my (Costco) Rexton Reach. I especially like the sound clarity in Edge mode. Is there any reason to NOT keep them in Edge mode? Does it constantly adjust or would I have to manually switch back to normal and then back to Edge mode when going from one place to another? Ie this morning I went for a walk outside and then to the grocery store with edge mode on but would it have been better to toggle between modes in between?

I hope this makes sense. My audiologist didn’t tell me about it and I didn’t think to ask. Thanks to anyone who reads all that for any advice!!

Also…not meant to bash Costco at all but I don’t think that my local store has HIS with sufficient training for my level of hearing loss.

Going from Rexton to Audibel Aris ITC

I’m picking up these new hearing aids tomorrow. I’ve worn Starkey, Jabra and Rextons in the past (currently in Rexton).

I’m so hopeful-can anyone describe the difference between AI hearing aids and old school? Also I’m going from RIC to ITC if that makes a difference.

Going back and forth between super excited to trying to tamper that but I really hope there’s a big improvement in my ability to make out words in crowds.
Am I going to notice the difference?

Looking for opinions about RIC vs. CIC aids

I have severe to profound hearing loss if that makes any difference. I’m currently in Rextons from Costco which I eventually had reprogrammed by an independent audiologist and they are better but not great. I am now prepared to bite the bullet on a new pair and I feel like I would really benefit from the latest AI technology. The real reason I want to change style of HA is because of my hair. The rustling sounds, the difficulty in tucking it behind my ears…I think you guys can probably relate.
Another problem is I am a runner and I feel like sweat getting in my ears causes me to feel a little off balance at times. Running without them isn’t a safe option for me.
So can anyone weigh in on this? Would CIC aides keep sweat out of my ears and can they be used for severe loss??

*I don’t plan on buying these from Costco, I am going back to the audio who reprogrammed my old ones. Nothing wrong with Costco I just want to upgrade technologically.
