Watching my parents grow old. I don’t know how to do life without them
It’s 2 am and I’m in Rome, on probably one of the last trips I will go on with my aging parents and I’m not handling it well.
I watch them struggle with things they could do just a few years ago and I know my time with them is coming to an end sooner than later. Probably another 5-10 years with my dad who is pushing 80. My mom is 8 years younger but I see her changing as well.
They are my best friends and my biggest supporters— I don’t know how to exist in a world without them. Who will I got to for parenting advice, an encouraging word or the comfort that comes from them telling me “everything will be okay”
I remember thinking as a kid that it’s okay because I have so much time… and now here we are. Damnit that went fast.
I just love them so much, they truly are the best and I couldn’t be more lucky to have had them as my parents
Time is a thief. Call your parents, go on trips with them, tell them how much you love them because life is fleeting
