Small Room + Enclosed Printer = Bad Idea? Need Advice Before Buying a Core One L
Community, I’m not sure if this is the right place for my post. I’m new here, and also fairly new to the 3D printing world. My English is still in its “alpha phase,” so please bear with me.
I currently own a “fancy” Bambu Lab P2S, and I have mixed feelings about the brand. I mean, it prints well and does what it’s supposed to do, but I’m not really a fan of some of the company’s policies. I think many people in this thread may feel similarly.
The thing is, I’m planning to buy a Prusa Core One L in the near future (once I finish saving up), but before spending my savings on one, I’d really appreciate advice from people with more experience.
My printing studio is relatively small, around 10 m² (4.95 m long × 2.03 m wide). Ventilation is not the best; there’s only one window at the far end of the room (1.23 × 1.43 m). My current concerns are:
- Besides being my 3D printing room, it’s also my personal office. The P2S is literally right next to my monitor on my desk, and I spend a lot of time there (although I do NOT print every day).
- Directly opposite the printer is the entrance to my bedroom, where I sleep.
Health is very important to me, and one reason I chose the P2S was because it’s enclosed, although that also creates other considerations. The reason I want the Prusa Core One L is, first, the larger build volume, and second, because it’s also an enclosed printer.
Most of the time I print PLA, PETG, and occasionally TPU. Very importantly, I also want to experiment with carbon fiber/glass fiber PLA and PETG. I’d also like to experiment with PP or PA in the future, but at the moment I have NO plans to print ABS or ASA.
Based on your experience, could you give me some recommendations?
