Will in the future indian army officers also become lt gen after 30/31 years of service like the US army officers because now officers are becoming colonel after 15 - 16 years of service ?

Hypothesis : The officer is serving with utmost merit.

The question I actually asked is for myself because I am giving cds and want to join IA. Last time I was conference out. I will be having 35 years of service after commissioning and I want to rise in the ranks and become Lt Gen. I am highly inspired. Since the last 2 years and even before that I had this inspiration. I might be 2 years late still I am inspired to become Lt Gen and I also assure I will perform very well. Please tell me will it happen in the future ?

Will in the future officers become lt gen after 30/31 years of service in Indian army. Because the new 2009 policy is making Indian Army Officers as colonel with 15-16 years of service.

I am asking this because I want to crack the cds exam and then I will have 35 years of service and I want to become a lt gen in my life. Please tell someone who is actually from Armed Forces will it be possible the future ?
