I’m moving to the area here soon and looking for any good restaurants/places to go. My fiancé lives here and I’ve visited a few times but always looking for more recs from locals!

Been to the zoo already, LOVED it!

If anyone knows of any sand volleyball/coed softball leagues around that would be cool too lol.

Thanks in advance!

Wedding cake/dessert advice

Hey everyone, hope this is the right sub for this. I’m getting married and trying to think of ideas for cakes. The only issue is that I have a dairy (casein/whey) allergy. Nobody else in my family does, nor does my fiancé.

My fiancé is super sweet and wants me to be able to enjoy the food at our wedding and suggested a dairy free cake. While I appreciate it, I don’t want to make everyone have a dairy free dessert on my behalf. However, I do also want to be able to enjoy my wedding cake/dessert and not feel like crap the night of and following days due to it having dairy.

I’ve suggested getting the same cake flavors just in either a cupcake or smaller cake that would be for me, served separately so the cake we cut would be the full dairy cake for everyone else. Would this even be possible for a baker/bakeries to do?

This is really the only thing I can think of, so if anyone else has any thoughts or ideas please share them!

Edit: A lot of people are saying that people won’t care about whether or not the cake is dairy free. I would literally love for that to be the case, and I know my close friends and family won’t care at all. I get worried because I get comments/joked at all the time from others about how I’m going to “make” my fiancé and kids eat dairy free too (I won’t), which people around me tend to see as a bad thing. I know there’s nothing wrong with my allergy or eating dairy free/vegan/etc. Honestly, every dairy free cake/baked good I’ve ever had was AMAZING. Thanks everyone for the advice/thoughts. I really do appreciate it.
