State Farm Edgar Delein
Just sharing my experience in case it helps someone. I realize getting insurance is based on the best quote, but if you'd like to get State Farm beware of this office. They have made numerous mistakes through the time we had them. The agents at this office are very nice, but are no good at handling the business end. For example, we call and go in to make a change and have to keep following up because they cannot seem to accomplish our request. Most recently specifically stopped at the office to cancel an umbrella policy, and months later still getting billed. Then, as usual, upon calling being told they don't have any record of it! This is SOP!! Plus thry think we need to send them a copy of our new umbrella, no...not happening. They need to learn how to do business, very incompetent!
Missing Cat
If anyone has any information about a (likely) dead cat that was on the north east side of the intersection of 156th and Q on the dates May 18th-May 20th 2026 it would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to find him or his collar for closure for the family.
Omaha Tenants United forms first new union in over a year at Dewey Apartments in Central Omaha
“OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – Neighbors voted to start a tenants union at this building on 33rd and Dewey. It's Omaha Tenants United's first new union formed since a case about OTU's ability to even operate was dismissed”
Did I miss something? Is putting tags on your car optional now?
Tonight driving home, I ended up behind two different cars. Both had no plates and in-transits. BOTH cars the in-transits expired in Jan 2025. That’s not a typo, 2025! Almost 18 months ago. It makes you wonder if folks who drive around with no plates bother to carry insurance. So infuriating for those of us who follow the rules.
Also, when will Nebraska join the 21st century and have the dealer handle taxes and tags when you buy the car. I’m pretty sure that’s how it is in most states.

reddit.comGASSSSS OMG
Jfc. Ok enough is enough. My little neighborhood gas station-A Bs 66 in Dundee-jumped 10 cents OVERNIGHT!!! 4.09 yesterday, 4.19 this AM. Cost me $50 to fill my tank on top of the 20 I put in not long ago. I have not ever paid that much to fill up. Not once in the 8 years I've owned my car. Please. Make it stop. Somebody do something!!! Ugh...🤦🏻♀️
Came across these old documents referencing Omaha Horse & Mule Commission Co, Lockheed Vega Engineering Blueprints, etc. Is this real?
The Omaha Horse & Mule Commission Co. I believe the owner's (M J Bud Smith) father Thomas W. Smith was writing an autobiography on the backs of these pages.
He talks about being a warden for the Nebraska State Prison, being appointed Chairman of the Council of Defense, livestock trading prices, all sorts of stuff.
Me and my son had a great deal of fun reading through all of these last night, but i couldnt find much I formation on this Thomas guy online. Can anyone shed some light on what we might have here?
Also included some Lockheed Vega documents & blueprints, a really cool lease agreement from 1943, & some telegrams. Where can we take these to have someone check them out and tell us more?
Where are the bearded at? Where do you buy your beard oil?
Gents,
At what local establishment do you buy your beard oil?
I previously purchased from mail order places and it was only so-so. Looking to have my money make an impact locally

Are there any secular charities one can volunteer at in the Metro?
I've been wanting to volunteer at a charity, but I'm not looking to be preached at or to preach at others. Places like Salvation Army are right out, as not only are they not secular, but I disagree with quite a number of their decisions.
Took job in Council Bluffs
Good morning! I recently accepted a position within the same company and will be transferring to Council Bluffs. I need some advice on places to live, I have been possibly looking at West Omaha, I don’t know much of anything about Omaha, so any recommendations on what areas are best/safest to live and if you have any apartment recommendations would be fantastic! Thank you!
Oh and my price range in apartments if anyone would be wondering…. Max rent would be $1100.
Appreciate all the responses so far! You guys are on top of it… I also posted in the council bluffs Reddit page and have gotten 0 replies!

Where can I find flowers in bloom that is NOT the botanical garden?
Hey Omaha Hive Mind. My kiddo has their senior pics this Sunday and the weather did a nunber on the "blooming plants flowering in nature" schedule this year.
Any ideas on a public location, that does not charge, for us to go find something blooming and take photos in the evening? Wildflowers are great! Dosen't need to be anything fancy.
Help me be Mom of the Year and find a solution to our weird spring weather!
Best fast food burger in town?
Just curious what everyone else's favorite is. The criteria for it being "fast food" is it needs multiple locations with drive thrus. I'll go first and say the Double Don at Don & Millie's is probably my favorite. 2nd is Freddy's and 3rd surprisingly is Sonic
Omaha Performing Arts season tickets, any theatre lovers interested?

One lucky duck is about to have a very “cultured” year ahead.
If you want in/to follow along, Google “Stay Cultured.”
We’re a group of cultural workers who push out a weekly arts/culture roundup trying to support our orgs and make it easier to a) know what’s actually going on in the city b) for people to show up.
Best pizza in town?
Best pizza in town and what do you like about it? I’m a big fan of regular crust (no thin crust), marinara, and combo toppings. Hit me with your favorites!
Glass blowers of Omaha! how "cheep" is it to learn the skill and get into the hobby here?
I've always been interested but don't really know the resources available here?
