I love my pineapple conure… but…
I have had my guy 6 years since he was a baby. I drove semi with my husband so Olive has always been with us, me especially 24/7. We are in mid of a divorce and Olive has picked up terrible behaviors, mostly hormones and God forbid if anything else needs my attention. I’m planning on moving to San Antonio in the next month to an apartment but I’ll be on a totally different schedule as I got to work. My soon to be ex husband saids he can’t take care of Olive alone while he’s on the road with how demanding he is. Olive knows something is going on so he’s really acting out. I don’t want to rehome him but with all these sudden changes I think he will suffer more if I’m gone for 8-12 hours a day. I’m moving into an apartment so I can’t have him screaming when I’m gone, although I can get a camera and talk to him but him being alone is what I’m worried about. I’m really stressed out about this situation because he’s been my shadow all these years and I know he has many more years left if he’s properly taken care of. He has not been cheap, as he cost me $4,000 already this year because he needed an emergency vet stay. I can’t just give him to whoever because I know he will require so much. What would you do in this situation?
