Genuine question for people who use pregnancy apps, do any of them actually feel good or do we just use them because they exist?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately so I want to hear from people who are actually pregnant or recently were.
I feel like pregnancy apps fall into two categories. The ones that are basically a Wikipedia article about fetal development delivered weekly, and the ones that are so cutesy and pink they feel like they’re talking to a child. Neither one actually feels like it understands what you’re going through.
What I want from a pregnancy app is something that remembers I’m a whole person. That knows I had a terrible week at week fourteen and checks in on me at week fifteen. That gives me something to look forward to every morning. That makes me feel like the experience is being honored, not just catalogued.
Has anyone found something that actually hits that? Or are we all just using whatever app the hospital pamphlet mentioned?
(I’m building something I think is closer to what I’m describing, happy to share if anyone’s curious, but genuinely just want to hear what you all think first.)
