Stable do-it-alls. Transitioning from orthotics.
Hey guys. Last year I have been training for a sub40 10k. Everything was going really well but in the end (weeks coming upto race) I managed to get an injury (probably load related.) We’re a couple months later and I am starting to get back into running 3 times a week. I also do regular strength training now so I am hoping to build again towards my goal in a more sustainable way. With this slow approach I also want to get rid of my orthotic insoles. I started wearing orthotics because I was overpronating when doing gait analysis. But I feel like it’s gotten less over the years and the physio’s I talked seem to also not like orthotics that much (with mild pronation.) It’s also a hassle to switch the soles etc…. So with this slow approach I want to build into shoes with no orthotics. My rotation with orthotics was (EVO SL, Glyc Max & Adidas Takumi sen 11.) I want to go to a 2 shoe rotation. The takumis are still fresh so I will be using them for my intervals (can still use the orthotics in them if my body needs it in the beginning.) For the 2nd pair I would like something to do it all but preferably with some stability. I’ve read some good things about the saucony azuras. The superblast/ megablast seem nice aswell but the price is just so high… What do you guys think about going for the azuras? Anyone who can relate/ give some advice? Thanks in advance!!
