The Game That Never Came
Alas, alas, ’tis TES, they claim,
Yet TES became the game that never came.
It haunts my rack, it bends my rod,
Oh Todd, oh Todd, where art thou, Todd?
Where lies the Sixth, the promised scroll,
That whispered sweetly to my soul?
We glimpsed a hill, a distant light,
Then waited through eternal night.
“Tomorrow,” cried the faithful crowd,
Their hope held high, their voices loud.
But years did pass, and memes did grow,
While Skyrim launched on toaster, phone, and snow.
Alas, ’tis TES, yet still I sigh,
The stars may fall, the moons may die.
For though I dream, proclaim, and pray,
The Elder Scrolls VI stays far away.
So raise thy mug and speak its name,
The blessed game that never came.
And should it launch before I’m dust,
I’ll praise Lord Todd because I must.
