Bought used refrigerator w/ bypass repair?

Needed to replace my refrigerator and didn't do my due diligence. It was just available in the right place at the right time and apparently overrided all my other brain cells. Anyways bought this used fridge they had it plugged in everything is Cooling properly, freezer side gets down to 20° and refrigerator side gets down to 32° on max. Was trying to make sure the coils were cleaned off before getting it in the kitchen and noticed that the lines marked in the photo had been bypassed .

This is a whirlpool side-by-side model WRS325SDHZ01

Can anyone explain what that line was for and how it will affect the refrigerator. I looked up some schematics but couldn't really wrap my head around it . The coils under the fridge now go directly to the dryer cylinder and then up to the other side of the coils in the freezer. It looks like it the coil originally went into the left connection back out the right connection and into the dryer cylinder then into the freezer coil.
