gilbert barely manages to defeat julius with a counter, but not without receiving even more damage from gott totter. after the fight we see him walking away with a limp, ignored by jurota and toa as they start their match. gilbert, clearly still shaken up from his fight with julius, decides to drop out of the contest after questioning everything about himself, his ability to lead, the purpose of his existence, etc. he encounters raian on his way out who overheard everything he said. he starts laughing about how pathetic he is and begins brutalizing him before, uncharacteristically, letting him go, telling him he is not edward but his own person. they decide to post-pone their deathmatch until gilbert has recovered both his health and his confidence, showing character development from both of them. or instead of a deathmatch, this is how the westward and kure begin to settle aside their differences? idk.
i know this 100% isn't gonna happen (except the part where gilbert beats julius) but after dreaming about it was i was like 'might as well write it down' lol.
placements in the bracket are determined only by the chairman, CEOs cannot choose where to place their fighters.
during a fight, all other contestants are placed in small, individual rooms scattered across the island where they only get to watch cartoons on their tv. those rooms are soundproof to the point where even muteba can't figure anything out, and there are no windows either. leaving these rooms at any point is prohibited. there will be no announcements regarding who is fighting next, only that there is currently a fight going on. when it ends, the next two fighters will quietly be escorted out of their rooms by staff to begin. and yes, agito is not an exception even though he is the chairman's fighter.
as for the fights themselves, they will be in the exact same order as they were in canon, only that the spectator seats are completely empty. who would most likely win the tournament under these conditions?
