If you were Sawada, how would you try to evolve and get stronger next?

Basically, what do you think is the most efficient way for him to catch up to Lihito?

Still one of the funniest panels.

The contrast between Kazuo's explanations and Julius unconcious, laid out body still gets me everytime

Do you consider this a retcon?

At first it was portrayed as if Carlos’s speed and predictions gave Gaolang trouble at first. But when Gaolang gets a handle in it he says ‘I can read you’ and ‘I’ve figured out your moves’ like he’s also starting to predict him. But then we get an explanation saying Gaolang caught him with speed (despite it being said Carlos is far faster than Gaolang.)

Here’s how I would have wrote a way to have Jurota progress as a fighter and through his techniques in a way that still has him stay true to the no striking fighting style.

The concept of Mist can already work by using his whole body as a way to redirect things as opposed to having to use his hands. He’s already at the apex at redirecting things so just have his striking skill be akin to Leo’s where it’s solely for defensive capability. Have Jurota do things like what Hatsumi did here where changes the trajectory of strikes sent at him. And THROWS his opponents off balance with these types of body parried.

Like it just felt so boring for Sandro to make that one of Jurota’s big developments over one of the timeskips when what made him so interesting in the first place was his pure judo aesthetic. If Sandro can write striking specialists not needing to incorporate grappling techniques (Gaolang, Liu) then he definitely could have done things vice versa.

He also should have had Jurota develop the swing variant but for sweeps/toe pinching.

Swap Sawada with Lihito here, would Julius be defeated if he tried to tank RE?

Is Lihito during the Kat

He uses Razor's edge on Julius neck and he "blocks it" like that

Would the damage be enough to drop the muscle man right there in that clash?

Or would his muscles be enough to cancel a fatal wound?

How did his watch not fucking shatter ?

sawada annihilated that goddamn tree. lihito blocked it ( makes sense ) but his watch aint get broken ???? cmon now

A cool detail, Sawada’s Maximum Acceleration leading to a g force induced nosebleed.

I’ve always liked the martial application ideas stimming from Sawada’s ballet background. It makes him a cool stylistic fighter. Being true to himself and his way.

I like Rihito’s continued demonstration of Kuroki’s lesson’s even better.
If you keep your opponent out of range, it doesn’t matter how strong or fast your opponent is, or how dangerous their attack would be “if” it landed.

The lesson is clear on Rihito’s more placid appearance. If I’m not in range, I’m comfortable, I’m not in danger from you, at all.

Took a Capoeira class yesterday…

… and there is no way that dude Medel learnt it in 20 hours. That shit is HARD. I have trained boxing for 3 years and have an amateur fight under my belt, so I’m no stranger to combat sports.

It’s a very beautiful way of moving and has an even more beautiful history. I also appreciate the way Medel is depicted using it, as the movements seem (to a novice) accurate. But 20 hours 😭

EDIT: maybe I wasn’t clear about what I’m trying to say. I’m not complaining that it’s unrealistic or anything, I know it’s a work of fiction. I’m just joking that taking the class contextualises how crazy this part of the story is
