Here’s how I would have wrote a way to have Jurota progress as a fighter and through his techniques in a way that still has him stay true to the no striking fighting style.
The concept of Mist can already work by using his whole body as a way to redirect things as opposed to having to use his hands. He’s already at the apex at redirecting things so just have his striking skill be akin to Leo’s where it’s solely for defensive capability. Have Jurota do things like what Hatsumi did here where changes the trajectory of strikes sent at him. And THROWS his opponents off balance with these types of body parried.
Like it just felt so boring for Sandro to make that one of Jurota’s big developments over one of the timeskips when what made him so interesting in the first place was his pure judo aesthetic. If Sandro can write striking specialists not needing to incorporate grappling techniques (Gaolang, Liu) then he definitely could have done things vice versa.
He also should have had Jurota develop the swing variant but for sweeps/toe pinching.
