I believe a strong Vanguard season is the healthiest season compared to strong Duelists and Strategiest seasons.
It's been only a few weeks since the biggest and most meta shifting Update in Rivals history had been dropped, since then I'm already seeing both people from the community and influencers call for tank nerfs and complaining that they're too strong.
I disagree, compared to last seasons this season feels the most rewarding when working with your team and forces a good balance of needed value from all 3 of the roles.
During the strong DPS seasons damage was so high and duelists were so oppressive with their base damage and crowd controlling abilities that they were the ONLY role having fun while the other two were forced to take a back seat for them.
During the strong Strategist seasons everything felt so devalued compared to ults, they by far became to most important aspect of the game with neutral becoming less important. Nothing was happening until an ult was popped which felt tedious and unfun for both Duelists and Vanguards, for half the game they could do nothing until they had their ultimate and even then only some Vanguards and duelists could have value with their ults because support ults were so strong at the time.
A strong vanguard season has neither of these drawbacks, it puts more attention and value towards the Frontline and for brawl tanks. Forcing dive DPS to have synergy with their dive tanks, or forcing supports to have synergy with their Frontline when to push forward and when to push back.
I'm not a Vanguard main, I'm mostly a Strategist main but honestly the game feels way more healthy when tanks are strong. (Imo the game feels the worst when duelists are strong but that just might be a me thing)
