The ban phase shouldn’t be RNG. Majority should always win.
Am I the only one who thinks the current ban voting system is just… backwards? Surely not.
If five people on a team vote to ban one hero and one person votes for someone else, why does that one vote still have a chance to decide the outcome?
That’s not a vote anymore - it’s a lottery.
The whole point of voting is that the majority decides. Right now, one player’s 16.7% vote can randomly beat the other five players, and that just feels awful when it happens.
I’m honestly fine with teams ending up banning the same hero if that’s what both sides independently want. That’s a separate discussion with its own pros and cons.
But the RNG within a single team’s vote? I really don’t see the benefit.
Make it deterministic. The hero with the most votes gets banned. Simple, predictable, and it actually rewards team consensus instead of random luck.
The only time RNG should come into play is when there’s an actual tie. If two or more heroes receive the same number of votes, then sure, let randomness decide. But if there’s a clear majority, the outcome shouldn’t be left to chance.
Curious if anyone actually prefers the current system, because I genuinely can’t think of a gameplay reason why it’s better.
