We fuel up our semi about three times a week….
Not long ago, the same fill-up would have cost around $850–$950

And this was at a truck stop charging roughly $6 a gallon. I’ve seen diesel prices elsewhere approaching $7–$9.

Nearly everything anyone buys spends some portion of its journey on a truck….Groceries, clothing, furniture, etc.

When transportation costs increase this dramatically, those costs don’t disappear. Eventually somebody has to absorb them, whether it’s the trucking company, the retailer or the consumer….

And once prices go up, they don’t necessarily come back down when fuel gets cheaper.

Thank god it’s the company’s card but I’ll still pay when I go get groceries, I’m sure.

I’ve asked the guy the reason. He said he didn’t want to be close to people but he parked right next to me???? At least leave a space between.

Now I'll keep it in the car and forget about it 🤷

Just wanted to go out with my dog for one last pee before going to bed and here he is again, waiting and I literally live in the city center of the capital and not some quiet outback 😭 the other day he caught us in the middle of our walk and we had to run back home because he was starting to run after us picking up it's pace going faster and faster like some Blumhouse Serial Killer

I went to my first ever reptile convention! It was a lot of fun as someone who grew up around reptiles and now has their own.

This is my hobby, exotic animal care, and I went to talk to others about their animals/knowledge. Unfortunately, I was largely ignored. I can count on one hand the amount of people who engaged with me. However, my husband who has never owned an exotic pet was actively being talked to at every booth. Despite the fact that he was stood behind me and would constantly tell them to talk to me.

They would ask my husband about what animals he has and he would reply with what animals we have. They would ask about enclosure set ups and he would reply honestly that he didn't know as it was all me. Each time they, men and women, would ignore that and not allow me to respond by talking quickly over me to change the subject.

I even experienced twice waiting to hold an animal I was interested in learning more about. In both experiences the individual literally ignored me and walked away.

The animal I did end up purchasing was a very interesting experience. One woman at the table was very kind and interacting with me, letting me hold the animal and answering questions. However, she was a helper at the table and the actual owner of the table literally refused to speak to me. The owner of the table, also a woman, would only talk to my husband who kept trying to get her to talk to me. I wondered if she was going even sell me the animal as she wasn't taking my card or listening when I was asking to pay.

I did get the animal and a starter kit! It was very frustrating but unfortunately not new. This happens in pet stores too when asking about feeder animals and enclosure equipment.

My husband is kind and supportive but he would be happy with one cat. He would never go to a pet store for more than cat food and litter, let alone go to a reptile convention. It's mildlyinfuriating that most people, both genders, believe the hobby is masculine and completely ignore an excited customer.

I live in the South, in the Bible Belt. I mostly saw male vendors and customers. Women were there and some unfortunately were also ignoring me. I am short and my husband is over 6 foot. He also looks deceptively older than me. I am not shy, I was trying to engage!

i'm quite annoyed as i have spent weeks finding the perfect keyboard only to have both my wrists sprained in a motorbike accident on the day of it arrival. Luckily, it is only a light one, but it will take at least a week to heal.

I have to check the dryer for felines before and after each cycle. They are quite cheeky and often run in when my back is turned for a few seconds. As if laundry wasn't tedious enough!

Mildly infuriating

Saw a lady spamming her homemade cake business on Nextdoor. Thought I’d give her a shot for my daughter’s birthday. Got a store bought cake with this attempt at drawing Minnie Mouse for 2x the price of just going to the grocery store.

I received over 70 notifications from LoJack telling me that I was speeding. Uhhhh… a stretch of Interstate Highway 10 from Katy to San Antonio Texas has speed limit of 75mph. I’ll be ran over if I drove any slower. So annoying.
