I'm aware union reps come in all forms so I'm afraid to put it down for fear of being judged, but realistically it has given me great experience in conflict resolution and working with difficult people, difficult situations and greatly improved my communication skills. But I still think probably safer to not mention it?
Had gone sale agreed on a property, survey showed Japanese knotweed present, from the vendors response we believe they were aware and don't consider it a big deal. They are unwilling to do what our specialist and solicitor have recommended so we are walking away. While its frustrating to have our time and money wasted I am also annoyed that the estate agent has said they plan to go back to market and I do not believe (based on our conversation) they plan to disclose the knotweed (again downplaying the whole thing) Is there a way to report this? I don't want someone else wasting their time and money too.
So many places/experiences are charging more and offering less in both goods and services and it's crap. Is there anywhere you've been pleasantly surprised lately? I need the antidote!
I recently went to a new enough coffee place in my local area, got 2 coffees and a cookie - price was reasonable but the cookie (homemade) was outrageously tasty and the owner stuck it in the microwave so the chocolate was perfectly melty, it's the little things.

I am happily married to someone I am very much aligned with on political/broader moral issues. One of my best friends is married (also happily) to a man with very iffy (IMO) views on certain things. Like he's a nice person, great Dad but then I'll see some absolute batshit comments he puts on Facebook. My friend says there is topics they just cannot discuss because they will fall out about them and that just seems mad to me. I wouldn't be able to raise kids with someone who had such a different stance on important issues. Would you?
