Bad G Test experience at Port Union, and would like some advice on what to do better next time

Now, for some context, I used to live in Scarborough, but I live in Durham now for school, and I took my G test at Port Union. I also took my G1 and G2 tests there without incident. So, due to me driving a lot on the highway daily, and the fact that I drove on the highway to even get to the testing centre, I felt a little confident in my driving skills. Now, I am not the best driver, but I felt I was good enough due to how much I drive on a daily basis.

Now, enough yap. I get to the testing centre, and this South Asian older gentleman walks up to the car, and we start the test. Everything is fine. He tells me to switch lanes to the left, then back to the right. I do it fine, check my blind spots, and everything.

Then, we get to a light near the exit. The light had just turned green; however, there was a bus halfway in my lane, blocking me, while a lot of traffic next to me was moving quickly, making it difficult to get into the lane next to me. Thus, I started to slow down and wait for the bus, like I would if I were driving normally, especially since, as I was approaching the bus, it turned its left signal on, showing that it was going back into traffic soon.

But as I was approaching the bus, the test taker asked me why I was slowing down. I responded with, "Because there is a bus in my lane." So, he told me, "That's because you are in the bus lane. Turn into the next lane," and he said it with urgency.

So, I quickly checked my blind spot so I could make it into the next lane due to the speed of the traffic next to me. But while I was doing that, the car behind me in the lane I wanted to move into sped up a bit. Mind you, I was signalling, and the car got into my blind spot as I was turning, so he honked at me as I moved into the lane.

Then, I was shaken up, and my nerves were shot. We were going near the exit, near what I believe is either Port Union or Whites on the 401. I was in the middle lane, very shaken up, with my nerves shot. He then told me to go into the right lane so I could take the exit, but he said it right as we were getting very close to it. Thus, if I did not make my move now, I would have missed the exit.

So, I checked my blind spot—twice this time—and saw someone there. Now, due to the exit approaching quickly, I chose to make my move and sped up. However, as I was speeding up to go, the guy in my blind spot, instead of slowing down, turned into my lane and turned his signal on as I was turning, making me stop and then stay in my lane. This caused me to miss the turn and, thus, fail the test right then and there.

I know that I did a lot of things wrong in this situation, but please tell me what I could have done here.
