how competitive is scca A-Modified actually?

how competitive is scca A-Modified actually?

i know it is the top tier, unlimited class, but am i really going to see purpose built mega high downforce cars on 14in wide slicks at my casual local autocross event? im asking because im building an EV open wheel car and the only class it would fit in is the AM special class.

Is this a good motor setup for a custom EV?

I have never done any electronics besides basic 12v stuff on a breadboard. its for a senior project in high school. also dont mind the shitty ms paint drawing.

safe to drill through crash bar?

im making a skidplate and i need the front mounts to come down from the crash bar. im planning on putting rivnuts through that pinch weld like area in red. it this safe? is it a good idea for a mild skidplate? the area next to the washer bottle for if you were wondering

I want to rally cross my FiST but the fortune auto 500 coilovers arnt gonna cut it as they are built for track use. So im weighing my options for gravel focused suspension

Bilstein B6

Pros

- cheapest

- Bilstein quality

- OEM+ style if you dont wanna go full rally

- B6 was previously marketed as HD (heavy duty, what you want for rally!)

Cons

- more work on install

- Need to source springs

- not engineered for rally specifically

- kinda hard to find recently

- designed for stock ride height

Links

amazing write-up

only one i found in stock

Reiger

Pros

- specifically gravel rally engineered (ie longer travel, stronger, etc)

- brand used by most ARA and WRC teams

- 1-3 way adjustable

Cons

- Most expensive (6k+ USD easily)

- needs service every 500 miles of rally driving

Links

primitive racing 1 way $6k

vex performance 3 way $10k+

Yellow Speed Racing

Pros

- designed for gravel rally use

- okay pricing for rally specific coilovers (2-3k USD)

- looks to be longer travel

Cons

- quality varies a lot based on reviews sometimes works fine sometimes even straight up non functional

- poor customer service based on reviews

- questionable as they dont even have correct images

Flatout Suspension (GR 40 or GR Lite)

Pros

- designed for off road/rally use

- middle of the road pricing (1.8-2.3k USD)

- longer travel

- Rebound adjustable

- 5 year warrenty

Cons (not ford fiesta specifically)

- lead times, made-to-order

- customer service

- install/setup

- questionable reliability based on reviews

- newer and small company
