Neighbours landscaper removed shrubs off our property and placed it on theirs
Our neighbour hired landscapers recently, and during the work they removed a few shrubs/plants from our property without permission. These weren’t shrubs sitting right on the shared property line either — they were clearly inside our yard and away from the border between the houses.
We have video footage showing the landscapers removing them.
After we contacted the landscaper, they admitted it and said they would replace the shrubs, we asked why they would remove shrubs from our property when they should’ve just brought their own? Makes no sense and they didn’t answer us. It’s been over a week now and they’ve been ignoring us.
Just wondering what people would normally do in this situation. Is this basically only a small claims court issue, or would police/bylaw ever get involved when landscaping/property is removed from someone else’s yard? Also wondering whether the neighbour can be held responsible too since it was their contractor doing the work.
