Not a cat owner: is it bad that I pet and sometimes give treats to the neighbourhood cats?
I’ve considered that the cats I give treats to every now and then (once a week if I’m lucky, the cats do not have much of a schedule) might have food intolerances and I’m worried what I’m doing is really messed up somehow. I’ve tried my best to feed them a minimal amount to avoid problems. It’s been going on for so long now there’s two cats in the neighbourhood that recognise me when I get to my front door and rush over to get some treats and pets. I’ve begun keeping treats next to my front door just in case. But maybe this is crazy? I wouldn’t want a cat myself, they’re a big responsibility and I’m not about to try and cat-nap one of my neighbours cats! But I still feel kinda sleazy. I’m making this post because one of the cats tried to sneak into my house through the front door I didn’t close all the way, and now I’m paranoid people will think I’m tryna kidnap someone’s cat…. Help?
