Was that a scam?

I had a weird experience recently (or maybe I’m overthinking this). I was at a cvs in Medford and this woman approached me with a bunch of sunflowers in her hand. She told me she bought them but only realized later that her dad is allergic so she was going to throw them away, but I could have them for free if I wanted. I said no and walked away but the whole thing seemed pretty sketchy to me. She was with a group of other people in the parking lot. When I was leaving from cvs I noticed her approaching some other people with the same story.

Am I overthinking that she (and her friends) were trying to lure people in to pull off a scam?

AIO about my light sleeper husband who keeps waking me up due to my snoring but he snores too?

Pretty much what the title says. My husband is a very light sleeper. His sleep gets disturbed by tiny things like slight change in temperature, minor sounds in the surrounding etc. Naturally, my snoring disturbs his sleep too. I admit I’m at fault a little bit here because I do snore. My snoring is not super loud but it does affect him.
He often nudges me by lightly kicking me to stop my snoring. It wakes me up from my sleep and I probably stop snoring for a few minutes but then I’m back to snoring when I fall back asleep again. The constant waking up due to his kicking really affects my sleep as well.
Here’s where I get super annoyed though. When he falls asleep, he snores too. I personally don’t get too affected by it because I’m able to fall asleep with the snoring sound.
Am I overreacting by being mad about the fact that he keeps interrupting my sleep to stop my snoring but then he proceeds to sleep and snores away?

FYI about my snoring: I haven’t gotten a sleep study done but I’ve discussed this with my primary care doctor and based on my exact symptoms I am unlikely to have sleep apnea. My snoring comes from my nasal passage getting dry very easily. I use a humidifier but sometimes despite having the humidifier on I snore a little bit.

Edit: for the people recommending white noise, we do use white noise but it’s not enough for him to cut out my snoring sound

What should I put as my date of entry in the UK?

I got my ECCTIS verification done and I’m planning to complete my visa application in a couple of days.
I graduated in May 2021 so I don’t have much time to complete my application, it must happen now. However, I’m not ready to go to the UK just yet. I live in USA and I’m considering moving next year. Will it be okay to put the entry date as Jan 1 2027? Or would that be considered too far away and reduce my chances of being the visa approved?
Is there a maximum allowed time period for the time difference between application date and visa issue date?

Details about my HPI eligibility:

I graduated from an HPI eligible university in May 2021. So my eligibility for HPI will expire literally in a few weeks which makes this a now or never situation.

Details about my H1B background in the US:

I've been on H1B since 2022 and also have my green card application completed. However, I'm an Indian citizen and actually getting my green card in the US is going to take decades (i'm not exaggerating, those who know will know). On top of that, being on an H1B in the US is starting to feel very constrained from an immigration rules perspective. There are many limitations with the H1B:

  • I need to travel to India to get my H1B renewed and there's always a risk of visa appointment cancellations leading to me being stuck in India for months. I've been hearing a lot of stories of people who went to India for visa stamping and got stuck there due to appointment cancellations.
  • I can't leave the US whenever my H1B visa is going through the renewal process because that's just how the rules are.
  • If I get laid off, which is very likely to happen in today's market I will have only 2 months to find a new role. This is very stressful

Overall, I'm finding life on H1B very limiting and anxiety inducing because it feels like a tiny setback can have major consequences It feels like walking on thin ice.

Also, I'm married and my partner is in the same H1B situation as me. We're wondering if continuing to live in the US on H1B long term is worth our peace of mind and we've been considering moving to other countries. UK is on the top of the list for us because we have friends there and there's no language barrier.

Is it worth applying for the HPI visa and keeping it as a back up so we can plan and actually make the move to the UK in a few months or even next year.
