Nanny standard for travel hours and pay
Hello, nanny here. I do not travel much at all with my nanny family but after a recent trip and some miscommunication about hours worked and pay, I wanted to check what the standard would be. Here is a scenario to help:
NF plans a weekend trip with nanny. Nanny shows up at normal time on Friday (8am). 2 hours later they all leave, nanny rides with NF in the back of the suv with nanny kids. They drive 4 hours to a zoo where they all (NPs, NKs, and Nanny) spend 4 hours just enjoying the zoo and having fun. They all go out to dinner and then to the hotel. Nanny has 1 hour in her own hotel room alone before going to watch the NKs for 3 hours while parents go out. They come back, nanny goes to hotel room and to bed. Saturday nanny has the day to herself and can do what she wants. Sunday she also has most of the day to herself but watches the NKs from 3pm to 10pm. Monday morning they leave all together at 9am, drive 4 hours home, and Nanny finishes her day as usual going home in the evening at 5pm.
Okay, assuming that’s not too confusing, how would the nanny mark the hours she worked? Especially Friday, would she consider the whole day as working hours except that 1 hour break in the evening? Or are some of those times not working hours?
Also are there any additional travel fees that a nanny should have other than lodging and food?
Thanks for the help!
