Request to expand Direct to Cell compatibility for Google Pixel devices on Entel Chile

Dear Starlink Direct to Cell Team,

I am writing to you as an avid supporter of your technology and a current customer of Entel in Chile, one of your pioneering carrier partners for the Direct to Cell service.

I currently use a latest-generation Google Pixel 9 Pro. As you know, this device has all the necessary hardware capabilities to connect to low-earth orbit satellite networks. However, because Google Pixel phones are not officially distributed by carriers in Chile, Entel has not deployed the required Carrier Bundle and IMS configurations for our devices. Consequently, our phones are unable to authenticate with the Starlink network (PLMN 314030) when terrestrial coverage is lost.

Right now, premium Android users with highly capable devices are entirely excluded from this life-saving technology due to local administrative hurdles and lack of device whitelisting.

I kindly request that Starlink, as the driving force behind this global innovation, encourages your partner Entel Chile (and potentially Google) to certify and enable the latest Google Pixel devices for the Direct to Cell service. Resolving this software gap would allow a significant community of users in Chile to finally experience and rely on your incredible satellite coverage.

Thank you for your time, your continuous innovation, and for pushing the boundaries of global connectivity. I look forward to the day I see the satellite icon on my Pixel device.

Sincerely,

Juan Gonzalez
