Roam software updates count against data cap? Seems like BS.

I just picked up a Mini and Roam 100 GB plan to cover my son's summer baseball tournaments and my dish had to update both times I fired it up (both within 3 days of each other).

I noticed that both times, downloading the update data counts against my data cap. Anybody else think this is BS?

I'm also curious if these updates really happen this frequently or if I just got unlucky in my first week of use. I barely got my kit set up on Saturday because I wasn't expecting another software update within a 3 day period.

Impossible to change my Wi-Fi password.

Hello

I am experiencing an issue with my Starlink Mini. I am unable to change the Wi-Fi password from the application. When I change the password and save, the modification is not applied.

I have already tried the following actions:

  • restarting the Starlink Mini router
  • performing a full factory reset
  • reconnecting to the Starlink application

Despite this, the issue persists and the new Wi-Fi password is not being applied.

Could you please help me resolve this issue or let me know if there is a specific procedure for changing the password on Starlink Mini?

Additional information:

  • Model: Starlink Mini
  • Issue: Unable to change Wi-Fi password

Starlink app says upload is much faster than speed test

My Google speed test says my upload is 4mbps. The app says 50. Why is this?

I am using the hardware starlink provided. Does this mean there is something wrong with the hardware? I am using the standard 4 and it was just installed. Basic residential service

Starlink had 10.3 million paid subscribers in Q1, double the 5 million it had a year ago, according to SpaceX's S-1 filing.

"But even though SpaceX doubled its paying customer base, the average revenue per user fell to $66 per month in Q1, down year over year from $86, as the company expanded internationally and offered lower-priced plans."

UK £25/month introductory offer - signed up for it but not honoured?

I signed up for Starlink near the end of April, when it was still offering a six-month introductory offer of £25/month. This offer was withdrawn from the 1st of May (for new customers), however I presumed it would still be honoured for people who signed up during the offer period.

A month later however after receiving my Starlink system and setting it up, I just got billed for £63 for the first month. No mention of the £25/month offer anywhere. So does anyone know what happened here, did Starlink offer a deal to gain customers without honouring it? Anyone else experience the same?

I get it

I understand people want to post about the changes in pricing for Starlink plans, but it’s getting kind of annoying. As I’ve said before mine is going up AUD$150, and I’m okay with that. I’m sure there’s other providers that charge more for ground-based Internet 🤷‍♂️

Do I even need the Residential Max?

*SPEEDS LISTED BELOW CURRENTLY WITH MAX PLAN*

So I've been paying 120 for about a year and have a kit and everything set up. I saw the price hike and everything going on, and was wondering if it would matter if I just downgraded? My speeds currently don't even break 200 MBP/S but I use a lot of data. Anyone got any advice? Would it affect anything that I'm doing now? Streaming/Gaming/Uploading Videos. Going from 120 -> 85 or 130 -> 85 would still be a chunk of change that would help me out alot.

Another price adjustment

TLDR: just a rant about price adjustment
Just recently (2 months ago) they adjusted the plans I had 400Mbps for 39€ lowered to 200Mbps for 39€ so I jumped to a 100Mbps for 20€ and now they increasing it to 35€
Location: Europe

Uhhh... did Starlink just accidentally uncapped my provisioning profile?

Was on the phone with tier-3 support troubleshooting a routing issue on my dish. Tech said he was pushing a custom development firmware to test the terminal. He told me to run a test and it pulled this. I asked him if this was a mistake and the line went dead.

Starlink 100mpbs - Which dish do i get?

Hello! I live in Croatia. I was about to order starlink (30€ Residential 100mpbs plan) When i got on the order page(or the page where i choose a plan) I Clicked on Residential 100mpbs plan and down below was "Product details" I clicked that and it shows the package includes Mini X instead of Standard 4x. But when i do the same on the Residential 200mpbs plan and click Product details it shows Standard 4x. My question is if i order The Residential 100mpbs plan Do i get the Standard 4x kit or the Mini X. I want the Standard 4. Im confused because my neighbour said he ordered Starlink 2 weeks ago for 35€ a month (i dont see that option anymore) and he got the Standard not the mini. Help!

Is there a limit you can keep your dish powered off without going into standby mode (residential)?

I'm going to leave it off for about 2 months, but was planning on keeping the normal residential plan (no standby) in order to not lose my spot.

Ideally I would like to just power it on 2 months from now, and have everything up and running quickly.

Price increases 20% immediately. Is this normal?

So I joined Starlink on May 11th with the price €29/month. I am still waiting for the router to arrive and they have just sent me an email that starting from June 20th the price will be €35/month.

Is this how they normally operate? Seems like bad practice to increase the price 20% before I have had the chance to even use the service. Should I dispute this?

Did anyone know about this?

I was exploring everything about the Starlink router in the debug data and came across endpoint. It had a port so I put it into chrome and nothing. Then I opened Fing to see what open ports there were, the only two were 80 and 20 and I put it in powershell to ssh in but wasn’t sure on a username or if I could login so I put admin and this is what I got.

Pricing for 501(c)(3) non profit?

I'm on the board of a small museum, and not a lot of options for connectivity. Would I be looking at business or residential service plans (I assume business)? We're located at an airport.

Does starlink offer non-profits a discount?

A note on the current pricing adjustments across the globe.

Your frustration is totally understandable — I just got the E-Mail today myself.

My only request: Please check recent and popular posts before making one of your own.

Tons of separate, but very similar threads are flooding the Subreddit whenever the E-Mails go out, which fractures the overall discussion into many little pieces and makes it harder for everyone to get their voice heard. Perhaps consider making a comment under a post that resonates with you instead of opening up a whole new chain of discussion on the same topic.

Thank you.
