Need Guidance for History Preparation - Sources, Mistakes to Avoid, Spectrum vs Alternatives & Whether Coaching Videos Are Worth It?

I’m starting History prep, so please guide me on what mistakes I should avoid. Also, is it really worth reading Spectrum's A Brief History of Modern India or are there better alternatives?

How should I cover Ancient, Medieval, Modern, Post-Independence, and World History, and what sources would you recommend for each?

Also, please share the common preparation mistakes students usually make in this subject that I should avoid from the beginning.

And one more thing are coaching videos actually worth watching? Most of them are extremely long, and then revision itself takes a lot of time. Doing videos + NCERTs + revision for History feels very time-consuming. I’m a bit confused about the most efficient approach, so please help me out.

I have purchased it, but I have noticed that other current affairs books like crux, vision CA have a very comprehensive data and this one looks very crisp to me. I'm not sure if this is enough. Anyone who has read it, pls guide if it's actually worth it. Though the data is good.
