Pearl House - WARNING
Posting a warning about living in Pearl House in the financial district. The amenities look great at first glance but:
- You basically cannot use the amenities without getting fees or fines. If you have more than 1 person on the roof, they'll send you a bill (literally). They bill for extra cleaning etc, if you simply use a space
- The cold plunge is never cold, the sauna does not get hot, the steam room sets off the fire alarm...
- The apartment is poorly made: hardware falling off of cabinets, planks loose, gaps between flooring and walls that they refuse to close
- The AC/heat in the apartments simply DOES NOT WORK. They blow the fuse whenever you turn them on
- Management is non responsive
- The elevator doors are so horrible they need to be manually operated
- The elevator doors will randomly close on you to the point where you need help getting out from their grip.
- I have been dropped in the elevators before
- Our freezer/fridge will randomly stop working and we lose a full supply of food
- We have literally had a massive white refrigerator in our apartment for weeks because ours does not work and they give us no updates
- The internet does not work in the co-working spaces or lounges, making them useless.
- There are regularly floods in the winter. management blames the tenants for "not keeping the heat on while away". its impossible to keep the heat on unless you are home to reset the breaker every hour...
- The doorman is useless. They do not stop a single person and there are always delivery people walking in and out freely/ wandering the halls, etc. there is nothing at all secure about the building.
The aesthetic of the building is pretty - but the building is a piece of crap and the management is useless at best, aggressive and rude at worst. As a "luxury" building, this is a total and complete scam.
