Soldering on steel
I’m rebuilding a 1967 Harley Sprint SS 250 and now dealing with the generator. Because the bike vibrates, they decided to put steel brush and spring holders on the generator case. Well, the enameled copper field coil wires need to be soldered to the steel holder. I’m stuck here.
Everywhere I look tells me I must use an acidic flux on the steel, then I also read that acidic flux will destroy copper wire over time. Any help will be appreciated on how to solder copper to steel? Thanks!!
