Managing Shedding in Labs/Goldens

I currently have an owner trained Standard Poodle. He’s turning 6 this year so starting to plan for a successor. My condition has worsened significantly since training, so I’m considering going through an org for my next dog. Of course I’d likely be getting a Lab or Golden, the only problem is the shedding. I don’t have allergies but I cannot stand hair on my clothes or floating around the house. I do all my poodle’s grooming myself, so I have a fully equipped grooming studio and am more than happy to do whatever it takes to keep shedding to a minimum. Is daily brushing enough? Would regular blowouts with a HV dryer be beneficial? How about deshedding shampoos? Any other creative approaches that work well? Just trying to figure out if it’s manageable or if I need to figure out some way to get another standard. TIA!

Advice Please! Chronic Pasturella in Senior Bun

My 10 year old soul rabbit was diagnosed with Pasturella in February. He’s never had upper respiratory issues before, but this has been a constant struggle over the last few months. We got him seen and on Baytril immediately after his runny nose appeared but it didn’t help and he developed pneumonia within a few days. After we started nebulizing Enrofloxacin and Gentamicin in a saline solution (in addition to the oral Baytril) he started to turn around. He’s had head and chest X-rays and a mass was identified in his sinuses. A sample was taken and came back benign. His vet said he is much more likely to have relapses due to the mass, but I do not want to risk removing it because he doesn’t recover from anesthesia well (he’s nearly died of stasis the last several times he’s been put under). A CT scan is out for the same reason. So far this is what we’ve tried:

Oral Antibiotics
Baytril
Chloramphenicol
Doxycycline
Pradofloxacin

All of these were given in conjunction with nebulizing. We gave everything with Benebac and Healthy Gut probiotics and he tolerated that combo well.

After he finishes a course of antibiotics, we seem to last about two weeks before another flare and another round of meds. Are long term antibiotics feasible? My vet (an outstanding bunny specialist from a large teaching hospital) said they lose out on certain B vitamins from long term antibiotic use, and of course there’s the risk of creating super bugs… but at this point I can predict when he’s going to flare up again. Would it be crazy to ask about putting him on a two weeks on two weeks off schedule? Or maybe I should ask about injectables? Any experience, advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

NOTE: He is already under the care of a bunny specialist, just looking for people with similar experiences
