What was fhe traveler's motivation again?

I dont want to sound mean or like I am complaining. I just don't know what our traveler's motives really were. I mean guess we go to Snezhnaya and see the Tsaritsa but what else?

-We know where are sibling is

-We found our ship

Is it find out why we are here? Or what happened to our sibling?
