The people claiming he was incompetent, that he cheated, and that he took his own life just because he got caught are either naive kids who have never stepped foot in a college, or they are knowingly maligning Sahil and his parents to protect an upper-caste professor from being held responsible for an SC student's death.

He wouldn't get into IITB in the first place if he was incompetent, 99.9% of the people speaking against him wouldn't be able to secure the same marks as him in the entrance exam. For someone who had an above 8 CGPA, it's very unlikely that he'd cheat.

The footage being shown is grainy, and it's not clear from the footage exactly why he was sent out of the exam hall. But the main issue is not whether he had cheated, because any sensible college going student will understand that no one would take his own life just for one internal midsem test. A midsem test carries little weightage to the final grade of the semester. Even if his grades had reduced because of this, he'd have recovered the grades in the next semester.

The real issue is why would Sahil take his own life just over a midsem test? How can it be that suddenly this single exam of a single subject's internal midsem test made him take such a step?

It is clear that there must be harassment by the professor involved for a prolonged, significant time. If there wasn't any harassment, he wouldn't have taken such a step. This is the entire point of investigation.

The savarna media is diverting the point by making it about cheating and maligning the people supporting him as supporters of exam cheaters.

PS: For those who are saying he took that step because of one year suspension due to cheating is a complete lie. It was clearly mentioned that there will be no action taken against him. As per the IIT guidelines, the student is supposed to continue with a new paper and get their gadget or chit confiscated if they're caught cheating. They're not suspended so easily. https://www.reddit.com/r/OutCasteRebels/s/zTP9J2ep3f.
