Films that seem completely serious, except for a specific element within the film
So as an example of what I mean, I've been having this funny thought: so the film(or even a tv show) has a totally serious plot revolving around a series of crimes, real gritty (think Prisoners[2013]), but every time something new is discovered about the crime/thing-that-happened everyone has these over the top reactions to it
And at no point does the film ever address these absurd responses to plot twists, if it weren't for the reactions like this, the film would be a real dark, unfunny, gritty film
