Finalized, DRP 2 timeline. Check your fed tax withholding.
I found these types of posts encouraging and helpful, so I will share my timeline.
DRP 2, retired (vera) on 12/31/25, DOI.
First interim payment in mid-March. It appears they calculated the interim payment amount by referencing my most recent 3 years of service, so my interim annuity payment was only about 43% of what I would eventually get for my annuity (not counting the supplement, which is a separate animal).
Assigned to a specialist on April 14th. I had a more complicated retirement as my high three were not my last 3 years of service, and they had to do some digging and put it all together.
Finalized on May 12th, back annuity pay with fers supplement received the next day.
My calculation for my annuity and supplement didn't quite match their calculation, but it was very close - I figured I messed up a bit somewhere, but the difference was so small as to not bother with it. So thank you OPM employee(s) who processed my retirement.
On a side note, check your tax withholding. They completely whiffed on my federal withholding instructions, but it is quite simple to change it on the opm services online website, which I did and received a confirmation email it was changed the following day. So no big deal and easily fixed.
