Atypical glandular cells turned out to be CIN1, no malignancy
I wanted to make a post to share my experience because AGC is such an uncommon result and I saw mostly scary stories on here when I was researching. I’m 34, had two babies, and have had heavier periods since pregnancy. About a month ago I went in to have my annual gyno appt and had a Pap smear. I’ve never had an abnormal result, I’ve always been HPV negative, and wasn’t expecting anything honestly. I was also on the last day or so of my period but didn’t think anything of it (might have had nothing to do with it but idk). 2 weeks later I got an abnormal Pap test result with Atypical Glandular Cells and Atypical Squamus cells of undetermined significance. Totally panicked after googling and searching Reddit because wtf. Became an expert in all things cervical cancer and endometrial cancer and hysterectomies and all the things. My doctor had me come in for a colposcopy, ECC, and an endometrial biopsy and my doctor wrote something about mosaicism on my colposcopy findings. I got the results back today. No malignancy or neoplasia😮💨. They did find CIN1 on my cervix biopsy and I’m waiting to hear if my doctor wants to even do anything or just retest in a year. overall I am SO relieved and wanted others in this position to hear a story that isn’t scary.
