THE ULTIMATE LIST OF THE BEST BUSINESS IDEAS IN 2026

THE ULTIMATE LIST OF THE BEST BUSINESS IDEAS IN 2026

I've looked at thousands of business ideas on reddit threads, blogs, and from actual entrepreneurs.

here are my favorite business ideas I think will do well in 2026. (the ranking of "best" is based on my experience as an entrepreneur and what I've seen work. these ideas may not fit you but I think they are solid ideas right now.)

  1. AI website themes x local business. Use Claude code or lovable and design websites for a local business. use google my business to find local businesses without websites. cold call them, show the website, and then sell it to them.
  2. tiktok Shop for trending products. This works for people 18+ in the US. You create your store dropshipping on tiktok’s platform and sell by acting as a middleman and creating content that directs to your store.
  3. test prep tutoring: First you need qualifications but if you have scored well on the SAT/ACT or any subject, you can charge a premium for tutoring. Choose one niche service like I help with the reading section on SATs and become the expert in that area.
  4. SEO for chatbots (AEO): Help businesses with answer engine optimization by creating a strategy to get their business visible on AI search engines. Target smaller businesses first and build a reputation.
  5. become a UGC creator. more of a service business but has been very successful recently. It works by marketing other's business on TikTok, Instagram, and they pay you by the number of views you get. If you are good at being on camera, this is a solid way to make some extra money.
  6. Short-form editing service: Find a podcast without a channel that doesn't post short videos or isn’t good at short video creation. Charge to edit their videos and repurpose them on across youtube, tiktok, instagram reels etc.
  7. hyper-local newsletter for your city. write about your local city or area and events and important information for people living in your city. Get sponsored by local businesses and run ads that geo-target your area on Facebook or Instagram.

3 buyer psychology tricks I used to increase my business's sales by 156%

#1 foot-in the door technique

Have a smaller offer to get them to commit to a small action like giving your credit card.

  • action: Create a free trial or discounted offer to get a small buy
  • Why it works:
    • Gets customer to make a small commitment that leads to bigger ones
    • Makes repeat buying easy
  • Pro tip: Ask “do you want to use the same credit card that’s on file” for future purchases to make buying smoother.

#2 Anchoring

Have an anchor price point to make your other items seem like a better deal.

  • Action: Make the product you want to sell more seem cheaper by anchoring it to a less valuable product.
  • why it works:
    • a high anchor makes our other offers seem cheaper
    • We think in relative so giving offers side by side helps us understand what is more valuable
  • Pro Tip: Create an expensive product and offer it first. This sets a good anchor and gets more money from a few customers.

#3 the goal gradient effect

The closer we are to achieving something, the more motivated we are to act. By seeing our progress our motivation increases to act faster.

  • action: Show their progress and how close they are to getting a bonus. Ex. $25.00 away from free shipping or 6/10 bobas (4 more) until you get a free drink.
  • Why it works:
    • Gives a reason for them to buy more
    • Creates loss aversion by wasting money if they don't buy more
  • pro tip: show visually the little amount more that they have to get the bonus or discount.

brutal truth you need to hear if you want to be successful in any business....

do the hard work and do it for a long time.

chasing the newest and shiny idea will just set you back on the time, experience, and skills you learned from the last thing

but hard work doesn't mean working 5 hours straight.

it means to do the things you have no idea how to do and are scared of doing.

for me, that was going on call and selling to a client, that was testing with Meta ads, and working with freelancers.

It wasn't hard to do but actually going out there into the unknown is much harder than watching a 3-hour YouTube course.

sticking to one business model and doing the hard things is simple but how I actually got better at entrepreneurship.

THIS IS A SIGN.

now go out there and do the hard work!

  4. GPT Prompt Packs. Create pre-made prompts for a specific niche like script writing for YouTube videos. This works well if you are in expert in the field and know what guidelines and constraints matter for an effective prompt.
  5. AI Website Themes. Use Claude or Wiz and design websites using AI. You don't need coding knowledge as AI is getting really good at design, but copywriting skills are needed. Personalize the website to a business and sell it to them.
  6. SEO for AI Chatbots (AEO): Help businesses with answer engine optimization by creating a strategy to get their business visible on AI search engines. Target smaller businesses first and build a reputation.
