I want to put thermal pads instead of thermal putty but i dont know what thickness do i need to apply. Can someone tell me is 0,5mm good or is it too little?

Does anyone know what thermal pads do i need to use instead of thermal putty? I have 0,5 and 1mm pads and i dont know if theyre okay or no.
