Hi everyone,

​I'm facing a frustrating overheating issue with my laptop and could really use some expert insight. My CPU is constantly hitting 95°C under load, while my GPU stays perfectly cool at a maximum of 73°C.

​Laptop Specs:

​Model: ASUS TUF Dash F15

​Thermal Maintenance Done: Cleaned dust, applied fresh high-quality thermal paste, and replaced stock thermal putty on VRMs/VRAM with Thermal Grizzly.

​Despite doing a full maintenance checklist, the CPU temperatures haven't dropped at all, while the GPU remains completely fine.

​Since the fans are clean and the paste/putty is fresh, I’m wondering what else could be causing this massive disparity on this specific laptop model:

​Could it be an issue with mounting pressure? (e.g., if the new Thermal Grizzly putty is slightly too thick, preventing the heatsink from sitting perfectly flat on the CPU die while still making contact with the GPU?)

​Is it possible that the heatsink's heat pipes have failed or lost their vacuum specifically on the CPU side?

​Or is this just aggressive ASUS factory boost behavior that absolutely requires undervolting or power limiting?

​Any advice on what to check next or how to diagnose this further would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I am going to college this year and my budget was only 70k . I will use it for coding, may be some light gaming i am not that interested in playing games. What is pros and cons of this laptop?? 662 doller

I'm new to the ASUS community. I'm migrating from MSI, but I find Armoury Crate very limiting and tedious. It looks like G-Helper is much better, but I have a few questions:

1. Can I choose the on-screen statistics overlay?

2. Can I control my fan speeds independently of the power mode (Silent/Balanced/Performance)?

3. Can I have a floating window showing my PC performance stats, such as FPS and component usage?

I miss Dragon Center. :(

So I'm using this video to guide me through the process to get the WiFi working but I just needed to make sure I know what I'm doing

I read about taking out the battery first before anything else but this guy doesn't do it and it turned out fine for him. I'm aware of the electric charge the fans could create if they spin fast so I'm gonna avoid using any kind of blower

Is there anything else I should know?

i'm just now booting up armoury crate to configure it a bunch, have already updated the bios via myasus and done all the windows updates i could. anything else i should know? tips, shortcuts, just really anything i should know with this new tuf a18?

Hi everyone,

I have an ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (Model: FX507ZC4-HN115W) with an Intel Core i5-12500H and RTX 3050. The laptop was working perfectly fine until yesterday. Today it suddenly refuses to power on. This model has dual DDR4 SO-DIMM slots and a 90Wh battery.

Symptoms

When I plug in the charger, the battery LED turns orange, and after a few minutes it changes to white, which indicates that the battery is charged and the charger is being detected properly.

When I press the power button, the keyboard backlight flashes for less than a second and then immediately turns off.

The fans do not spin at all, not even for a moment.

The screen remains completely black.

No ASUS logo, BIOS screen, or display output.

The charging LED itself behaves normally and stays on.

There was no obvious trigger

No physical damage.

No liquid spill.

No overheating.

No burning smell.

No recent hardware upgrades.

The laptop was functioning perfectly the previous day.

Troubleshooting steps I've already tried

1. Hard reset / EC reset

Unplugged the charger.

Held the power button for 40–60 seconds.

Waited and tried again.

No change.

2. BIOS startup attempt

Tried holding F2 while pressing the power button.

Tried repeatedly pressing F2 and Esc during startup.

No response.

3. RAM troubleshooting

I have two RAM sticks installed:

One factory-installed RAM module.

One additional Crucial RAM module.

I have:

Removed and reinserted both RAM sticks.

Tried booting with only the factory RAM.

Tried booting with only the Crucial RAM.

Tested each stick individually to rule out a faulty RAM module.

The exact same behavior persists in every case.

4. Battery reset

Opened the laptop.

Disconnected the battery connector.

Waited a few minutes.

Reconnected the battery.

Still no change.

Current behavior

The laptop only does this:

Press power button → keyboard lights for a split second → immediate shutdown → no fan spin → black screen.

Since both RAM sticks failing simultaneously seems extremely unlikely and the charging LED behaves normally, I'm wondering:

Could this be a BIOS/Embedded Controller (EC) corruption issue?

Could a motherboard power delivery component (MOSFET/VRM/PMIC) fail suddenly even though the laptop was working perfectly the previous day?

Is there anything else I can try before taking it to an ASUS service center?

Any suggestions or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

any recommendations on what to setup so I can maximize this laptop? and any game recommendations? I mainly just bought this for coding, college, and some light gaming on the side like valorant, minecraft, and genshin.

Hello! I just noticed this sub reddit a while back. I've only recently seen about the issues with the hinges, the wifi card, and g helper. Are there any tutorials you can recommend to solve these issues I've only got this laptop for about 4 months any help would be appreciated ♥️

It has been 3 years since i have been using this tuf f15 i7-12700h.

Battery health is 69.4% rn so wanted opinions, should i replace the battery.

Also any website or any recommendation in buying the battery and can i safely replace it at home cause the thing is i have done dual boot for linux so i basically don't want to send it to official service centers cause they have some wipe the data policy. Another option is third party stores.

Tuf > amd > intel is my priority order but when I asked around with my friends, they said lenovo is better for long term use and also that tuf has hinges problem and motherboard issues

Please guide a newbie around
