What is the frequency range produced by subwoofer channel of AVRX?
I have a Yamaha RX-V677 and there is a "crossover" setting. The user manual says: "Crossover
Sets the lower limit of the low-frequency components that can be output from a speaker whose size is set to “Small”. A frequency sound lower than the specified value will be produced from the subwoofer or front speakers.
Settings
40 Hz, 60 Hz, 80 Hz (default), 90 Hz, 100 Hz, 110 Hz, 120 Hz, 160 Hz, 200 Hz"
I understand that part. However I do not understand whether that refers only to 5 main channels or does that crossover setting apply to LFE channel too? What is the frequency range of sounds carried in LFE channel of 5.1 movies and which speakers are gonna play this channel?
For example, if I set the xo frequency to 80 Hz, will the subwoofer play 200 Hz if that 200 Hz is present in the original LFE channel in the movie? Or will that be split between front speakers and the subwoofer? Or will LFE frequencies above 80 Hz be thrown out?
